View Full Version : a look inside prison soraya 04-09-2002, 08:23 AM don't know if anyone is interested, but I found a web site, of the sherrif or Maricopa County, who has a web cam inside prison.... http://www.mcso.org/ Goody's Girl 04-09-2002, 10:49 AM Thanks Soroya, what an interesting site. badgirl 04-09-2002, 11:40 AM The Georgia DOC has a 360 degree prison tour too ... all looks way too clean and 'nice' so it must have been shot before they put inmates in that part of the prison! Fed-X 04-09-2002, 02:21 PM Too bad this camera view does not catch the guards working over inmates.. That would be a camera I would like to see.. "Caught on Tape.. America's 'finest' hard at work" You know they steer clear of that camera! David torrey 04-09-2002, 02:26 PM Would it be interesting to send in Robert Redford (Brubaker) with a hidden camera lets say inbedded in his front teeth, or in his earlobe somewhere no one can detect but can capture every thing on tape? Instead of a Nanny cam they can have a Prison Guard cam? LOL Shortie 04-09-2002, 05:51 PM I am all for that prison guard cam.. How about a warden cam??? Or the parole board cam you know the talks that happen before the hearings... soraya 04-10-2002, 04:59 AM I agree that all these cams are necessary. I'm always looking at the jailcam to see something, but of course they won't do anything wrong that can be catched on camera. I'm walking with a weird idea in my head. You know there are these 'spy' companies that can hide really tiny cams in like a button or something and nobody will know. i thought of getting one of those for when i go to visit Darrell, just so that I can look at him when back home...but the risk might be too high..I might do it later on, when I'm able to visit him more often... torrey 04-10-2002, 06:47 AM One scary thought is that this can be reversed and they could have prisoners on camera 24/7. soraya 04-10-2002, 06:56 AM HMMMM....I already joked around with Darrell about that thought. He's in his cell alone, so I told him I'd request a web cam being placed in his cell and only I have access to it, so that I can watch him all day long...:) Shortie 04-10-2002, 07:43 PM that would be interesting so you would have to edit some of it. Are you sure you are ready to enter there world. Some of the stuff anthony tells me and what happens I would not like to see.. You see if they did not know the camera was there everything would happen like normal. soraya 04-11-2002, 01:51 AM well, I wouldn't mind being able to see Darrell all day (and night) long, I know what to expect. Might be different if I'd know he wasn't alone in his cell. Not sure about the rest of the prison though...But the more I can see of where my baby is, the closer I feel to him bella 04-11-2002, 03:09 PM This is the same jerky warden that has a big neon Vacancy sign flashing on the grounds, makes the inmates wear stripes and spends something like $1 a day oer inmate on food. He also has most of them housed in tents. I'm sure the residivism rate is low but I still think he's a jerk. soraya 04-11-2002, 03:11 PM really? damn.... bella 04-11-2002, 03:31 PM Yep, there was a whole show about it on A& E or one of those channels about a year ago Goody's Girl 04-11-2002, 05:49 PM I saw that show Bella, totally awful thing he has done. And this is a county jail, he's already tried and cinvicted the prisoners of his jail before they even go to court Shortie 04-11-2002, 08:05 PM It is a true thing when they say guilty until proven innocent.. I really think that is how it is.. you do not get a fair chance and a fair trial.. amazing what law enforcement officers can get away with. Pam 04-12-2002, 12:13 AM Maricopa County Arizona is also where the Klone man was convicted of a crime he did not commit and was on Death Row for 14 years and they have finally exonerated him. The County attorney Rick Romley stated to press that he was discussing with someone as to whether they would charge the real perpetrator since they now knew who it was. Really ticked me off and I wrote the Attorney General there and ask him what was there to decide, that they had no trouble deciding to charge an innocent man 14 years ago and they have DNA proof now who the real perp was. soraya 04-12-2002, 02:01 AM it's too bad I never get to see those shows over here. But what you said about the stripes is indeed true. I was watching yesterday and saw 2 guys cleaning the pre-intake room. they had on stripes like you see them wearing in old prison comedies. at first I thought they were dressed like that for fun, you know, to amuse the web cam viewers. Then I remembered what you told me,Donna,.... soraya 04-13-2002, 04:27 AM another look inside another prison http://www.doc.state.nc.us/DOP/CPtour/ where you can go on the tour a prisoner goes on when coming inside Central Prison in NC...no web cams but photos bella 04-14-2002, 10:08 AM Goody's girl, That's right I forgot until you said that it is a county jail. Makes it even more upsetting. Pam- it's unbelievable that they had to even think about if they were gonna prosecute the real perp. It sickens me when they almost admit that it all comes down to money. They will never admit that they waste thousands for tax payers dollars to convict an innocent man but in not so many words they are saying they don't want to spend the maoney or the time to convict a true murderer. What about the endless years this innocent man spent on death row, what about the future psychosocial hardships he will endure? Have they atleast offered some kind of compensation? Not that all the $ in the world can make up for it. tracy 05-09-2002, 07:30 PM Does anyone here work inside a prison? I do but I'm not in contact with the housing units. I can say if people on the outside saw the type of people that are in charge of the offenders they would be very worried. There are some very fine people in DOC but the majority that come in contact with the offender daily have real power issues and are not too bright. Tracy sherri13 05-09-2002, 07:54 PM I don't work inside a prison but I KNOW that many people who work in corrections have control issues and aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer......... soraya 05-31-2002, 07:35 AM That is so true. I wish they made it harder for people to work in prison, because a lot of people seem to be in it for the money and for the money only lizbeth 06-05-2002, 02:53 AM Hello, Im from arizona and everything you hear is 100% true. except the meals are down to about .86 cents now. and he actually has nothing to do with DOC he is the chief of police in maricopa county (Phx. metro area). Female chain gangs, tents and all that. I see inmates every day on the sides of the freeways. Arizona is one of the hottest places in the whole USA. I just dont get it. Arizona, dosent play when it comes to inmates DOC or not. lizbeth CREAMYALMONDZ 06-05-2002, 09:56 AM Thanks for that link Soraya. Shortie 06-05-2002, 07:01 PM i think they are trying to kill them in the heat and add to the punishment like being in prison is not bad enough come on. soraya 06-06-2002, 03:01 AM like being in prison is not bad enough they've done an experiment over here, you could win 4000 Euros(around 3800 dollars or something) if you spent 20 days in prison. there were 20 candidates selected, divided in 2 groups. 1 group were inmates the other group were CO's. what happened? the prisoners lost every sense of reality, they completely forgot they were in a program where they could get out of it whenever they wanted. the people who were CO's started misusing their 'power' after only 2 days, when they were used to calling people by their numbers and seeing all of themin the same clothes. now keep in mind these people were just 20 people like you and me, who wanted to win some money. this shows how the human mind works.... the thing is, they had to cancel the experiment after only 6 days, the people who were the inmates were completely desillusionated! this shows how bad prison is, I think soraya 06-07-2002, 02:42 AM I saw a documentary yesterday on the Dutch tv. Do you guys know Ruby Wax from the British tv? She visited this prison. Oh, when I saw that man's face....:pissed: he's not normal! Ruby made a fool out of him and officer Sunday. The saddest part was when the female chain gang (Ruby was a part of the chain gang, to learn how it is) had to burry people, who have no family or money for a normal funeral... love muffin 06-07-2002, 10:03 AM I agree with the cameras in the parole comission room but we all know if they were aware of the cameras they are not going to do anything illegal. Budwoman 06-07-2002, 12:23 PM SORAYA: THE CENTRAL PRISON TOUR IS ACTUALLY MUCH BETTER THAN BEING ON PREMISE AND SEEING FOR YOURSELF. CENTRAL PRISON IN RALEIGH IS A 100 YEAR OLD PRISON... IT IS FILTHY DIRTY AND THE HALLS HAVE DIRT BUILT UP FROM THE FLOOR TO THE BASEBOARDS.... THE FLOORS ARE NEVER MOPPED. INSIDE THE PRISON IN THE CELLS, (EACH PERSON IS IN A SEPARATE LOCKED DOWN CELL) THERE ARE ROACHES CRAWLING ALL AROUND. THE CENTRAL PRISON HAS IT'S OWN HOSPITAL THAT IS USED NOT ONLY FOR CENTRAL BUT FOR MANY OF THE UNITS IN NORTH CAROLINA. IF YOU GO INTO THE HOSPITAL, YOU WOULD PROBABLY PASS OUT BECAUSE OF THE UNCLEANLINESS YOU WILL FIND..... DIRTY SHEETS, DIRTY BANDAGES ETC. DON'T EVEN BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE... PICTURES CAN BE DOCTORED. DONNA KConnor56 06-07-2002, 05:51 PM Regarding that jail in maricopa county arizona, I read a story, & saw a news show that stated his revidivism rate isn't much different than other county jails. I saw an interview with the sherrif & his attitude was screw them they did bad so this is what they get. The guy has a contract out on his life & I believe 4 or 5 people have already been busted ploting to kill him. I would hate to do time in a filthy prison, the ones I was in weren't new but they were fairly clean, & me & my cellies always kept our cell spotless. Although Orange County jail has had a cold going through the ventilation system for years, & everytime someone gets it, it mutates a little, & in a few months time its like a whole new bug, & you get sick again. I also was exposed to TB while working in the laundry at OCJ because of their lack of procedures to handle bio hazardous waste. soraya 06-10-2002, 06:27 AM This man doesn't even have any kind of degree...and they let him lead a prison? KConnor56 06-13-2002, 06:31 AM EZF has recently received some appalling post cards from prisoners at the Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix, AZ. We put them up on the front page of the EZF website. http://www.engaged-zen.org Kobutsu Just click on the main logo when the next page comes up scroll down. This guy is a real ass. soraya 06-13-2002, 08:03 AM I found out this morning that there's a trial against him, he's being suid because the cameras show both male and female inmates using the toilet and getting undress. they demand 1.4 million dollar KConnor56 06-14-2002, 03:02 AM Yes Soraya your right, & the cameras have been pulled. I tried to see if they were still up & they have disapeared. Here's a link to an article on it in the Arizona Republic. http://www.arizonarepublic.com/arizona/articles/0426jailcam-ON.html soraya 06-14-2002, 05:15 AM THANKS FOR THE LINK... Tracy Dear Tracy and Justice Seekers, Thank you for your web site. I to work in corrections. Voices must be heard.about what happens behind the prison walls. JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED Florida Department of Corruption Stated goals of Florida DOC: Protect Public, Staff and Inmates As a member of the system but not of the corrupt system, I to am being screwed by the State of Corruption. Florida's good ole boy prison system. Our Florida Prison System has gotten out of hand and has been left to be run by Thugs who are out of control and are no good for anything much less to be put in a facility with peiople who are more intelligent than they are. The injustices being done in our prison systems today is an outrage againt both Professional staff and Inmates. The State of Florida Corruptional Deptartment along State secrects and lies, has fallen prey to political and bureaucratic egotists. The misuse of power with dehumanizing treatment and injustices.with the (just because I can and get away with it it attitude) that is directed toward Staff and Inmates. There is no justice or fairness in a process that dehumanizes a person. How can one expect rehabilitation to manifest, if a human being is locked up in a cage for 23 hours a day with one hour to strech outside their cell? Many times 24-7. Where is the justice in that kind of treatment? Together we can make many changes. Those that speak out with the truth will change the system and hopefully forever. Unfortunatly, Professional Officers are retaliated against, punished, and put in fear of losing their jobs (being set up) if they voice the truth of what goes on behind the prision walls within the cesspoole of corruption, along with it's state secrets, lies, injustces, and coverups. This is A very much needed web site. I hope that more will join in to expose what REALLY goes on in our prisons. And yes, one person can make the difference. Thank God for all of you. Best regards, Whistleblower "The place of justice is a hallowed place." soraya 06-14-2002, 06:51 AM It's nice to have some people here that work in the DOC and realize that there's something wrong. It's nice to also hear your side of the story, you guys can give us another input too. love muffin 06-14-2002, 07:48 AM Thank you, You and I need to talk more. You can E-Mail me or I will contact you when I can. Budwoman 06-14-2002, 07:53 AM WHISTLEBLOWER: THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR STATEMENTS.... YES, WE ALL KNOW THAT FLORIDA, TEXAS, NORTH CAROLINA, ILLINOIS ETC ALL ALL IN THE VERY SAME SHAPE.... YES, YOU ARE RIGHT, THERE ARE 25 % OF THE PERSON WHO WORK IN THE SYSTEM WHO REALLY DO TRY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT... BUT, THE OTHER 75% ARE SO VERY POWER HUNGRY THAT THEY COULD NOT GET A JOB ON THE OUTSIDE IF THEY WANTED TO.... THE OUTSIDE WORLD WOULD NOT ALLOW THEM TO WORK. I KNOW HOW HARD IT MUST BE TO WORK FOR THEM..... MY FUTURE DAUGHTER IN LAW DID ONCE TOO. SHE CAN REALLY TELL YOU SOME HORROR TALES FROM NC. MY BEST WISHES TO YOU AND CONTINUE TO POST WITH YOUR IDEAS AND HELP. THANKS DONNA love muffin 06-14-2002, 08:13 AM I agree that someone has to get the politiicians attention so that changes can be made to the Correctional System in the US. I feel that it will be a long time coming because who really cares about inmates in prison? Think about it. These are the lowest of low. Alot of people believe men and women in prison deserve what ever treatment they receive. This is from complete ignorance. I would have never taken a second look if I hadn't went to work for the DOC and met my future husband there. I have gained tremendous knowledge since November of 2000. Just like now, my Fiancee is being punished for falling in love with a former employee of the DOC---(ME). Is this fair? I don't think so. All they are doing is showing who has the power. All the Doc would have to do in this case is let me visit the man I love. This would have stopped alot of aggrevation, mental anguish, and alot of their precious time, but this would be way too simple and humane to allow a model citizen to visit with the man she is going to marry. The DOC's way of thinking is totally off the mark and they can't even see it when it is right in front of their face. |
