I don’t know where Fort Dodge is? But there are forums for the state he is in that you can go to and I am sure there will be someone that can help you with your questions.

Sorry that they denied you visit! Hopefully you can try again to get approved.

Welcome ButtNutt! I'm in Cedar Rapids. My man is in Anamosa. He was in Ft Dodge a long time ago, but I wasn't with him then. I've not heard pleasant things about it. I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out.

Buddy (Prisonbud) has a son in Fort Dodge, so maybe you could direct your questions to her, I know she will answer ya if she knows the answers. So you got rejected to visit. What was the reason? You can appeal that ya know, been there done that, and if ya need any help with it let me know, I have been down that road and know exactly who you should contact.

What do you want to know about Fort Dodge? My husband was there, the first time he was in (this is his second and FINAL visit to DOC, at least with me!) Fort Dodge was brand new when he went there and you hear all kinds of bad things, but from MY side of it, it wasn't so bad. They were expanding things when he got out (he discharged after over 13 years! His last two and a half were at Fort Dodge, he's been in them all. CUrrently he is in Anamosa, we are hoping to get him run up in September to get to Fort Dodge, since that is only an hour and a hlf away from me, Anamosa being 5 hours, one way. That trip sucks. Fort Dodge is a younger population of inmates. there are a lot of petty rules there because of this. They also require everyone to work if you want to stay on general population. You shoud've been given reasons why you were denied to visit. If you were not, contact the records office. you can also appeal this decision. to do that you need to contact your man's counselor. if you do not know who that is, the records office can tell you that also.

My boyfriend is at Fort Dodge right now. I've searched every web site and called everything, the iowa site sucks but if i can help you out with anything let me know, prisonbud was also a huge help to me so i'm sure they'd help if you need it! you can PM me if you have any questions
