Does anyone have any information about work release programs in Arkanas? How hard is it to get to work release? What are the conditions like? Inmates wages, furloughs, visitation - in other words, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING :) . I was particularly interested in Texarkana. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hunt's-girl - The man to talk to in Texarkana is Lynn Bleu (I don't have a number but I will try to find one). He is the one to pull for work release down here. Terry had to fill out a request for work release and turn it in. I believe that they have to request where they want to go. The constiuent officer told me that it isn't always fast because there are alot of people wanting work release. So the more open he is on where he goes he will probably have a better chance. From my understanding they are allowed 1 furlough a month when they are on work release as long as they are class 1. But I am not sure on that. I read something about it in the ADC family guide that is on the ADC website. They do earn a wage. Part of it can be sent back home to the children or spouse and part of it is paid to the ADC for reimbursement. There is alot of info in that ADC family guide. If I hear anything new I will let you know. Terry isn't going to be able to get work release because they made him a class 1C because of his diabetes. But I will keep your man in my prayers because time will go by alot faster if he is out and working. Good Luck!

Thank you for the info misstussey! Yeah, Hunter would prefer Texarkana, but I know he would love to go anywhere. I'm so sorry that your man isn't able to go to work release! I know that must be hard. Thanks again for the info.

Violent offences will keep them from being approved for work release. The wages vary from minimum to $8. Depends on where they go to work.
My husband has been to work release twice and is getting ready to come home next monday. PM me with any specific questions you have.

Thanks Jacody! Yeah, I know Hunter is eligible for work release. I just figured it's pretty hard to actually get into work release. I will definitely be pm'ing you with some questions.
