Ok, so Rich left a message for me at my friends house today on her machine saying that he leaves for Fire Camp on Wednesday! This really could be a great thing. But he didn't say what camp :cool: . I tried to find out in advance from inmate locator (calling CDC), but they said they wouldn't know for about 5-7 days AFTER the move!!! DARN, DARN!!!! Does anyone know any ways around this? :confused: Is there any other way to find out in advance? :confused: I would love send him mail there soon after his arrival and MAYBE even visit :D if the camp is CLOSER than 12 hrs away!!!!

RichsGurl,,,,,,,,,,, I can,t help you with that question. But I did want to ask you one. My husband graduates from his FFT today. How long was it before your man was sent to fire camp? And let me know how you found out what camp he was sent to. I would like to do the same when my husband transferes. Thanks Anita

Ok heres what I found out. The number for me to call the day after he would be transfered would be 530-257-2181. This is for camps up north. They are very helpful. Good luck!! When I go visit him I will post how it was at visit. At least you will have some idea. But to answer your other question, Rich never went through the training. He is special skills. He is the electritian for the camp. He had me type up a REALLY nice resume. i printed out 14 of them. He sent them through the prison mail system and it took him approx 4 weeks or less to land this position. GOOD LUCK to your man. When he called me tonight he said this camp so far didn't seem to be much better than CCC in Susanville :-(. I hope he was speaking prematurely.
