Hey everyone, well it was unbelievable to get to see Brady in person and touch him on Saturday. Soooooo great in fact now I am sadder than I was before I saw him. I know I've asked about the time thing before but I'm looking for clarification and comfort. Okay Brady got 4 years for not going to the probation officer. He has served 6 months and "earned" a year of time so far. His parole date is in Feb of next year. How much chance does he have of getting out before his parole date? Does anyone know? I've heard that if it was a nonviolent offense and because of overcrowding they are only to serve 1/3 of their time or 15%. Does anyone know if this is true? Does anyone know if there is a magic number on a computer somewhere that says when they can get out? He has completed almost all the classes and got off of Boot Camp 6 weeks early. He has passed all his tests with extremly high scores and just earned his level 3. Does anyone know if all that will help him get out before Feb? Please help comfort this aching heart......
Does anyone know if it would help at all to write his judge to see if he would reduce his sentence based on how well he has done in the last 6 months?

They have to serve 1/3 of their time to be eligible for parole. The date of his scheduled hearing will be the 1/3 mark, usually. If he takes classes, keeps his nose clean and gets all his levels he can discharge before his date but it depends on the services and classes available and if he takes advantage of them. Also on his being have and earning and keeping his levels with no loss of good time. Every month they are given a time sheet that says how many days they have left till they can discharge the sentence. It will also reflect the good time levels he earned the month before and any he has gotten for classes completed. For example if he was to pass his GED he would get an extra 90 days taken off his sentence for that month he passed it. Each course takes off different amounts of time, that is something they would tell him before he takes it. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry I can't help on your questions. My guy is under the 85% rule so he doesn't get any time off for anything for at least 10 more years, so I've never tried to figure the time things out. But I wanted to post to say congrats on your great visit! I'd been waiting to see how it went. And yeah, the hardest part of visiting to me is having to walk away. I can't stand seeing him walk away in the other direction, well except for the fact that I get to "watch" him walk ;)
I'm glad all went well and hope you find the info for your time count questions.

Bradysgirl sorry that I got you mixed up with someone else on another post. Mommahen is right, he can earn good time and with that he could discharge before his parole date but that parole date will NEVER move. I have contacted several people on that issue. My fiancee's parole date is earlier then his 1/3 will be served I don't know how that happened but the parole office told me that they set the parole date 60 days prior to that 1/3 but my fiancee's 1/3 would not be until June 07 and they have his parole set for Oct. 06. I'm not complaining, I just wish they would get a hold of those early parole papers and letters and let him come on home. Hope all this has helped you out.
