Well.. To let all of you know that I'm moving back into my parents' place and I'm willing to chip in for a motel room if necessary. My son and I are in the process of being approved on my friend's list at Snake River. We could carpool there in July or sometime? I'm gonna post an official Carpool to Snake River thread in the Oregon forum... I'm sure that'd be okay with JJT, at least I think so. :D I'm praying really hard for our cherished ones at Snake River cuz I heard that it's really difficult to deal with the officials in there and the harsh prisoners.... (sighs) May God hold all of us together and give our love to our loved ones. :)

Just found that a old friend is in Snake River. Can anyone give me some information about this institution, with regard to the treatment of prisoners? I am writting him a letter, but have not had contact since 1989 shortly after his went to OSP. I am very familiar with OSP, but know nothing of Snake River. Perhaps someone can make a comparison of the two.

My husband has been at both, currently at SRCI. He would rather be at OSP. He says they were less hard nosed there, more things for the guys to be involved in and less hassle from the COs.
Though I have never been treated badly during visitation, I have seen others treated so at SRCI... but never at OSP.
Overall, SRCI is tighter on security and I believe more violent. More lockdowns.
Of course all of this is just my humble opinion. :o

If you could work up a post regarding what you know about OSP and SRCI, and post them in the appropriate thread... You would be my best friend for a whole week!!! LOL

I have NO information regarding Oregon prisons, and was only able to post what came straight from their DOC web site.
