My fiance was sentenced Jan.13 2004 to 5 years. He had one of those stupid mandatory enhancements. In 96 97 2003 he had misdameanor poss. of c.s. charges. He is in Riverview release center right now. He hasn't been in any trouble since he has been there. THANK GOD. HIs conselour told him not to start treatment because he was going to run him up for an early release June 2. Does anyone know if they will let him go. His only other record is for driving. Im losing it DO you think they will let him go?

Hi Marlon'sgirl  Welcome to Pto and the Iowa forum!! I cant say I have alot of dealings with the parole board as of yet, its comming though. Have you wrote to the parole board on your fiances behalf yet? I know support letters are mega important. Its hard saying what the board thinks. You may wanna check out the Iowa Bop site too, that may help some also. You could go and look at some other cases of inmates who got parolled for the same charges and see how much time some of them actaully served, some not very much at all. I wish I could be of more help, and I wish you luck.
Here is the BOP web addy: http://www.bop.state.ia.us/

Marlon's girl, Heather is right about writing the pob. Make it short and sweet!! One Page!! Don't bother saying anything about what a nice guy he is or any of the stuff 'cause they don't care. What they really want to see is what kind of support (family & friends) he has. Does he have a job waiting for him, what is the housing arrangements, what is his 'plan' for when he gets out.
Have I made sense in what I said?
