I just had to share this with all my friends at PTO. I have a very dear friend on Polunsky Unit, in Texas, and I just recieved the most amazing package from him I have ever seen. I am going to try and get a picture of this artwork to put up.

To any people that see these men as monsters, I just wish that you could feel and see what I am feeling and seeing today. It cost him over $30 to send this package to Australia.

It is a beautiful picture of Indian art, past present and future, and I am one that loves Indian artwork, but I have never seen so much detail and beauty in this.

The other is a painting he did of some roses, and the details are perfect with that painting as well. He painted and sketched them for me :). It isnt normal paper either, its proper artwork stuff. (his level one).

I am just so excited I had to share. I feel the luckiest person alive today, having such a dear friend in my life, that took time out to show how much he appreciates me as a friend.

Thanks for letting me share :)

Kyla my walls are decorated with some of the most beautiful artwork I have ever seen. Everyone when they first come in my house ask where did I get the beautiful art and I tell them from friends on DR. I also recieved a beautiful eagle on art board from our mutual friend. I recieved it Friday.

I have never seen so much talent as I have seen in the drawing and paintings from Death Row. It is amazing what they can do.

Thank you Kyla for sharing. I did get your message about the computer crash earlier. I can't sleep due to a bad muscle spasm in my left shoulder! Work is coming up soon (4 hours) and here I am on the internet trying to get sleepy!

Thanks for sharing...I can't wait to see the pictures!

OMG his going on an art rampage. Was it drawn on an art board?(yep I just re read and it was :)) I was so excited I started crying. Im so glad you got one to, only thing is... they are to big to scan. I will have to find my digital camera. I have never had such a special gift like that in my entire life :)

I hope you are feeling better, I know you are going through hell and back right now as well. I just had a lay down, but the kids decided to jump me. I will send you some photos soon :)

Receiving art work from a friend always does bring a smile to one's face that is for sure.
The best artist among my penfriends is Texas' Allred's unit and due for release in just a month and he is planning on making a career out of his talen.

I also have a lot of art work which I have collected from my 12 penfriends :) and guess what? Curtesy of Chuck, I have not an eagle, but a beautifully and delicate drawing of a panda family of three; the baby is sleeping snuggled close to his mother while the father is watching close by.
Also in my posseession is a watercolor of a sailboat mounted onto a rather large board. The sail-boat in question has already traveled quite a bit :D as I had to carry onto the plane {it just would not fit into my suitcase}, returning home after a trip to Livingston, Texas (and it's lovely Polunsky Unit) in March.

I love it to babieboo, my friends know I love indian art, and every letter I get from my friend on DR in OK, he draws the most amazing artwork all over the envelopes I keep them in frames :)

As for my Chuck, his artwork is from the heart :) He always seems to amaze me. Karin, I have the Panda one as well thats so special, and shows alot of love and courage, something that he has.
The lighthouse one I havent seen, but have seen four of them on some of his sites.
Arent we the luckiest :)
Softie, you wouldnt be able to purchase the art in your house for all the money on the earth, its priceless, and always will be.

I too have an art gallery courtesy of my penpal. He's Native American and has demand for his art from N. American prisoner support groups in Europe and makes quite a bit of money. I hope I can help him start a little business.

I sent my pp a short prayer that my mum treasured during a long illness, he sent it back in the form of the most wonderful art work so I could frame and treasure it too.
and they call these people monsters.....

Skyblue, thats EXACTLY how I feel. These are men with true hearts. I am just happy that there are others that have shared and experienced all that :)
