I need a lil help girlfriends. I have a friend at Avenal who has been begging me for two years to visit him. I travel alone so I'm kinda nervous about driving far. I live in San bernardino and I think it is about four hours from me Right? Can someone tell me about the hotel/motel loding near the prison? Or tell me where to look for this info. And please correct me about the amount of time it will take me to drive there. Any info will help me.... Thanks

kettleman city about 20 minutes from Avenal has a motel 8 and a Best Western- I think it's a best western...both are nice hotels. I am not sure how far it is from San Bernadino - from Orange County it takes me 3 1/2 to 4 hours to get there.
