First off, driving all the way up there is not going to get you any more answers than calling. So, I'd say don't go.
If you've been going through this for the last eight months then I can only say to call the warden first and leave a weeks worth of messages and give him only a week to get back to you. If in that time he doesn't return your calls or doesn't give you a reason for why your husband is not being allowed visits. That's when you call Sac. Explain what has happened. Someone there will either help you or direct you to where to get help. It is going to take you longer than I'm sure you want to wait but, you are going to have to follow the chain of comand on this one. If you need it, PM me and I'll give every number you that I have. My husband was there a few months ago. He was moved not long after they had the riot. Hope this helps. I'm here if you need more help.

Are you visiting Old Corcoran or SATF Corcoran? If it is Old Corcoran you could call records (559) 992-8800 and press 5 when the recording comes on. This will get you someone in records. You should ask them for a housing location. Ask if his yard is on lockdown. You can also call (800) 374-8474, this is the prison information line. At the first recording you press 1, at the second recording you press 4, at the third recording you press 1. This will take you to the information at Old Corcoran. A lot of the yards at Old Corcoran have been on no visit lockdown for awhile now. They are slowly getting their visits back. If you're visiting at Old Corcoran go ahead and PM me if you need any further info. I hope this info helps.
