Hey all. Well Mike is now at Dectuar work Release. I can't believe they moved him so fast, he just got a letter last Tuesay telling him he was approved and a week later he is already there. Anyways I was wanting to know any info on Dectuar work release if any of you have any information please let me know. Thanks everyone.

I was just wondering Mike says that anyone can come pick him up when he gets his passes is that right?
And lets see I have a lot of others, Will they hold out money he owes on other fines than the one he is in for?, Do I have to give my SSN to them to be able to visit, and can I still send stamps and paper and things like that to him?, I know there is more questions I will think on it and get back to you.

Hi all could you please tell me if there is a waiting list to get in work release? My son was just turned down with no explanation. He has no write ups and there was absolutley no reason for him to be refused. I told him I thought there was a waiting list. He is at Bibb and comes home in December.

doeadearr, I am not sure if there is a waitin list or not. But Mike had an outstanding charge on him, so they had to wait for him to go to court on that one. Then he wrote the WR people and they finally wrote him back and said now he is Min. custody so he was approved for work release. Maybe someone can tell you more.

I haven't heard from him since he went to work release. But you know what? He called his mom Friday from Work release Friday is when he went. Well she answered the call. I couldn't belive it. She has changed her tone a little, I couldn't believe she answered the call. She said she did cause it was WR and not Limestone so she wanted to know what was going on. Well she is the only one that can take the things he needs to him, so she is getting her boyfriend to it, the work release approved her boyfriend to do it. Anyways she is all nice to me about it and is sending him what he wants (new boots for work, toothpaste, toothbrush,and soap) She is sending his clothes he already had too. So that is a suprise, I don't know what changed her mind about cutting ties. Unless when he told her she is the only family he has so she has to be the one to send these things she relazied that, brandi can't do it all, some things a mother needs to do like take those clothers to him.
She did make me mad yesterday but she always does, so I am use to it. I am just not calling her and still not relaying any messages, she told me today, "I wish you woudl write and tell Mike" well I just blocked her out when she started that, I don't even remember what she was saying and don't care, she needs to tell him what she thinks not me!

Brandi, Josh was okay with it because he has done very well at Bibb except for that stupid staph infection they all get. He had wanted to start working to pay off his fines, but we are okay with where he is because he has good friends there and we don't want to rock any boats with him coming home in December.
At least Mike's mother sounds like she is softening a little. You are doing good to not be her messenger anymore. ( Unless it is an I love you message :-)

cember, Mike got a letter being approved for Work Release before he found out abou this parole. He just wrote the work release after he had his other charge taken care of and a couple of months later he was approved. So I don't know for sure who gets it or how, sorry can't help you out. Hope somone else can.

Doeadear, Thanks for the update on your son,I am glad to here that you and him are taking it well. I don't blame you about not rocking the boat. You take care of yourself and tellyour son to do the same.

Brandi I'm so sorry Mike's mother has treated you and him this way. I know it has to be hard on you taking care of everything by yourself. I hope Mike realizes just what a special lady you are. I could never do that but some people are different in how they chose to look at things. Hey I applaud you for standing by him through the hard times.
All our loved ones need that support that comes from family and friends. I hope everything goes well for you both. Don't let his Mom run your your lives when he is released even if it means letting her know who was there when the going got tough.

Brandi would you please let me know if the Decatur Work release is still located across from Denbo's iron and steel? They still look deserted there and I never see any of the inmates out like I used to...I thought maybe they had moved them further down the highway somewhere. Do you also have to be minimum out to go to work release? My son should be reclassified as minimum in sometime in August. Would love to see him be able to go to Decatur Work release since we live here in Decatur. You say he wrote work release...did he write Decatur Work release?
Doeadearr December is not that far away hope your son comes home before Christmas.That would be a great Christmas present!

Lace, I am not sure where it is at now but when I get a letter from Mike I will let you know, I am going to write and ask him where it is at, because the address I send the letter to is a PO box. But the Dectuar Work release web page has 1401 highway 20 on it for the address they are located. Mike wrote his classifiaction officer to get put on work release, all I know is that he said they reclassified him as Min. custody(he had a pending charge when they senected him to prison so he was MAX. until he went to court on that chrage) and recommended him to Dectaur Work Release. So that is all that I know I hope your son can find out how to apply for work release, I am not involved with Mike getting this work release he done all that himself and just wrote last week saying he finally heard from them 2 months after he wrote them.

Thank you for saying you applaude me for standing by Mike. Mike does know I am a special woman he tells me that a lot in his letters, the whole I have never had someone be so good to me as you are" and tells me thanks for all that I do.
His mom yesterday on the phone she was telling me that she knows that no other Mother would have anything to do with their son after all what Mike has put her through. I told her right quick "oh yeah they would and mothers do it everyday" She said well they wouldn't be as good to him as I am". I snaped right back and said oh yeah they would. And she asked me"do you really think any other mother would do that when I have been through as much as I have with Mike" I answered her with a I don't think I know they do, I hear about it all the time."
She thinks only she has the problems( mike being in jail some many times, he has served in county jail like 4 times but never over 90 days, see he was in Florida and when he would get picked up for something, you have to stay there until court, so sometimes it would be 30 days before he was out, but it was because of waiting court) anyways she thinks it is just her going through all this and I have told her she just needs to get out and see and talk to other mothers she is one of many that is going through same thing as her. And no I am not letting her ruin mine and Mike, I sometimes wonder if she just doesn't want to see him happy, I know that is mean but I wonder that sometimes because she tells me how much Mike loves me and thinks of me but in the same senetence she will tell me all that he has done in the past and go on and on about it. So NO I am not letting her take me down, I love Mike and am not listening to her. Thanks Lace for the support. Sorry this is so long reply but wanted to fill you in on my whole drama. THanks again

Brandi I posted a thread today where it states the work release center is being used for juveniles recommended by Morgan County courts to get their GED's and improve their lives...Sooo where have our state work release inmates went to? I even called Decatur work release to see if they was still located at the same place across from Denbo's iron and steel and the lady told me they are. It don't make sense!

Ok my husband just told me we used to have a work release center some years ago further down highway 20. so maybe this is what they are talking about making into the juvenile center. But still I'm not seeing any inmates at the Decatur work release center. One day soon if I don't find out where it's at I'm going to go looking for it! LOL

Just to update the Decatur Work Release is still in the same place and I'm now seeing the vans with guys on it going to and from. They had the guys picking up trash in the median on highway 20 not long ago. As a matter of fact I saw two vans at Kmart Tuesday, where they was doing some shopping. It's good to see them out and about again, I think basically the place was just empty. At least we know some are getting work release now and putting the centers to good use.
