Can they buy a bible thru the inmate store? But my thing is I do not have much money. So I was wondering if anyone donates old bibles? And could one possibly be donated and sent to him? Or would it have to come from a book club? Like could it come from a church group? I have been thinking and would really like him to have a bible. Thanks for any advice.

I think they can request a bible from the chaplain. I sent him one through Amazon - the bible plus postage was about $10. I bet if he were to ask the chaplain he would get one for him though - how could a man of God turn down a request for a bible! They also have a collection of books at Lewis that inmates donate, so there may be a bible there that he could receive.

i just went through the same thing recently and he can request a bible from the chaplain and he will get a free bible...i just ordered one with his name on it and it ran me 20.00 if you have any questions p m me and i will help any way i can..good luck..

You can go to www.mamasite.net and they will send him a bible free of charge I believe. Especially if he has ever been involved in drug use. This bible that they give out also has a 12 step recovery bible included.

If you're unable to get a free bible, I would also suggest Amazon.com. You can get used books for about 1/2 off the regular price. I believe all prisons in AZ requires that it come from a outside company, like Barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc.. I'm not sure if they would except it from a church. Good luck

Another suggestion is your Church. I bought my husband the NIV study bible from my Church bookstore. It is really easy to read & has study help at the bottom and an index in the back for topic studies. They will ship it for about $5 extra.
