I thought that the only reasons that they would deny you were if you've had a felony conviction or illegal drug charges, or if you've visited another inmate within the past 6 months. Unless minor in possession of alcohol is considered an illegal drug charge, then WHAT THE HECK!!!! Would they have denied me because of that?

I would think that as long as you have no felony record you would be fine, but who am I to know. Is this the visiting application for Cottonwood? If I remember correctly they are a little stricter on their visiting policy. I dont know if you can apply at the new facility since Cottonwood denied you or not. I know that where Chris was the visiting room staff was very helpful. I also know that where he was moved to the visiting application process is a lot easier. My advise to you is call the visiting room in the AM and talk to them. You wont have to give them your name or anything in order for them to answer specific questions. I would start by asking them if a misdimenor will be a problem. Ask them all those questions THEN ask them if you can apply for visiting or do you have to wait a certain time frame such as 6 months after Cottonwood denied you. If they tell you that the misdimenor wont be a problem, but they try and tell you that you have to wait I would then ask them who you can appeal the decision to since their guidlines are differant then Cottonwood

Yeah, it was at Cottonwood that I was denied I believe... or maybe it was ISCI... I can't remember! lol Now he's in MAX, so I'm sure it won't be any easier to get approved, but I'll send in another application anyways. :(

My fiance's in Max - its not that hard to get approved. They even allow felonies - you just have to be honest about them - minor things of course - DUI's, Fraud, etc. The visiting officers are interesting - the one who actually does the approvals is pretty uptight. Ive been visiting there a year and a half - longer than most of the guards have worked there. :)

My fiance is also in Max and it wasn't hard to get approved. Just had to make sure everything was wrote correctly and all that stupid crap. The worst was waiting the six weeks before getting approved!

My fiance Daniel was moved out of max after being there 1 year, they moved him to ISCI. Our kids were able to see him over there but they were denied to visit him where he is now. They are trying to get him to attend sex offender classes, then I have to go and get a chaperone certificate, plus a letter from a counselor stating why the kids should be allowed to visit and if it is necessary. His charges have nothing to do with minors they are aggravated assult, burglary, 2nd degree kidnapping. We are very upset and confused because they have visited him with no problems in max 3 times. Any ideas???????? Anyone?????????
