lovinhimstill 05-22-2004, 12:12 AM Welcome to PTO,
Has he sent you the visitor form yet? If not you need to get that from him fill it out and mail it back in a letter you send him. as far as your background I'm not familiar with that...someone will be along to help you with that. WELCOME
apachemouse33 05-22-2004, 12:20 AM when filling out your visiting form be sure you are truthful about your arrest record. they will decide if you will be allowed to visit based on your past. they do check with Dept of Justice records and if you fail to mention your past you will be rejected.....

See my problem is ... i have had the visitation form for about 2 months now ..But havent filled it out yet because i am afraid to fill it out and forget something ...
i have been arrested several , several times and am afraid i cant remember all the dates and am thinking i would be better off getting a copy of my arrest record ... a legal copy of it ...... But am not sure how i would go about doing this ??????
Has anyone else ever done this before ????? If so what do i need to do ... who do i talk to??? I really want to get this done ... as i understand it takes a couple months even after i send it in to the prison to get approved!!!!
Thanx again
Angie

valivee 05-26-2004, 03:02 PM Call Sacramento Dept. of Justice, they will give you, for a small price, a print out of your criminal/arrest history, I think it's about $35. If all of your crimes were in the same county you can go to your local court house in that county and stand in line and get all your records pulled for FREE from them. It took me 2 weeks cause they had to send off for some of my files. I was afraid too because of all my fines I had and all petty shit, mostly traffic tickets, but no felonies. You might also want to call Wasco and ask for a visiting information packet. That will tell you how to deal with a felony and visiting. Good luck!

Panchhome805 05-27-2004, 12:23 PM Okay as a back up plan ...In case I dont get it at the court House i called the Dept of justice in Sacramento and ... i guess they send you out a packet to be filled out and then it takes 6 to 8 weeks after that ...... for it to be processed .... so it'll a several months before i get to see him .... But at least i am doing the footwork now ..

valivee 05-27-2004, 12:31 PM 6 to 8 weeks!?!?!?! Wow that is a long time!! I almost went that way, thank goodness I tried the court house instead.
Panchhome805 05-27-2004, 06:30 PM Okay well I called the Dept of Justice and they are going to send me a packet ... i am relieved to finally be getting this started . ... i couldn't believe thay called me back so fast .... i had to leave a message but they called with an hour ..... i have to get finger printed and everything ....
Not Like I have never done that before
I also went down to the court house and tried going that route in case it was faster and they just gave me the number to the Dept. of Justice ...

valivee 05-28-2004, 01:42 AM I guess each county is different. Maybe since the county I am in is pretty small they have more time to do this kind of stuff. Hey at least now you are getting started on the process! Good luck!!!
Panchhome805 06-01-2004, 10:47 AM Saturday I got the packet in the mail from the dept. of Justice ... so now i just have to complete it and go down and get a live scan and my finger prints done and on the 7th i am going to try and take care of those fines i owe ...
and then i guess It takes 8 weeks to get my records back and then i wonder how long it takes to get approved from the Prison .... AHHHH this is a very long process !!!!! But thank you for all your help

valivee 06-01-2004, 03:02 PM Just think all this hard work and waiting will pay off when you get to have that first visit. And when you do get that first visit, you will forget about all the hard work and time that has gone by to get there. Keep on it, don't give up!!
