Hello,
I am also new to the site. My brother was also transfered to Pleasant Valley. I understand that it is extremely overcrowdwed in that prison. They have Level 1 with Level 3 and prisoners are in the hole because there is just no room.

As soon as you are approved to visit and can see your loved one. You need to make visiting appointments. You can call Monday thru Wednesday from 11am to 1pm. It is extremely hard to get through to get an appointment but it is well worth it. If you can not get an appointment then the earlier that you get there to get a walk through number the better off you are so that you dont have to wait so long. The walk through process starts at approx 10am, and that is if they have all the appointments processed by then. If you need the phone numbers or anyother information please feel free to PM me and I will share the information that I have learned with you. I know how frustrating it can be.

My son was sent to PVSP a few months ago and I have my first appt this Sat and Sun. I called and called but I got through and got both days at 8:30 a.m. I am very happy as I have not seen him since January. He has been moved around alot and is finally getting settled. He has been in over a year and has not been able to get a package or anything due to his being moved all over. He seems to like PVSP though, as much as you can like any prison, I guess. I have heard that they are over crowded and have the gym set up as a dormitory as well as the day room, which means that the inmates have to stay in their cells more, thus making tempers flare. I hope the early release law goes through and some of the guys can go home and get on with thier lives making more room in the prisons.
