Hi everybody, I got some really good info from these links and sent them to a friend in Alderson. The info was really good and helped. She had a couple of Questions that I didn't see adressed. If anyone can help she would be gtatefull. We are hopefull she will make the October class.

What are meals like-is there a time limit-are you permitted to talk-food any good?

Can you purchase things like asprin, allergy tabs from the commissary?

Can you finish the program in under 6 months-how is it determined when your finished?

What are you permitted to take with you or sent from another institution?

Thank you for any consideration.

I did not attend boot camp myself but I was in Bryan and have several friends that comleted boot camp. I can try to answer your questions.

In the law library in Alderson there is a program statement that outlines what you are able to transfer and also what you are allowed to have in the boot camp program.

You cannot complete the program in under 6 months. It is a 6 month program. It is determined if you finish if you make it through the program. It is a very physically demanding program. The participants also take GED and other classes.

They are separated from the rest of the camp. They do eat in the same dining hall but at different times than the rest of the camp. They are given a certain amount of time to eat. There is no talking allowed. The inmates from boot camp are not allowed to speak to the rest of the inmate population.

You can purchase aspirin and allergy tablets.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions I will do my best to find the answers for you.

Hope you are able to find all the answers you seek!
