Hi Everyone-
I have been checking out this site regularly for several months now and want to thank everyone for all the helpful info. I think all of my questions (and then some ;) ) were already asked/answered by others, until now, I need some help...
My bf was sentenced to 4 yrs in prison from a charge in 1 county, but already had a separate charge pending in a different county. They moved him from SCC Jamestown 'out to court' so he has been in the county jail for a few months while we were trying to get that case resolved. Then, on Thursday, he was transfered to San Quentin. This was very unexpected because he hasn't finished this case yet....anyway, his PD didn't know anything about him getting moved and was going to check on it and get back to me. I left him several messages over the last 2 days, with no reply from him.
My question is, is it likely that he is on his way back to Jamestown, and if so, how long does that process usually take? Or is it possible that this was a 'mistake' and they will realize it soon, and send him back to the county jail to finish up this case? Also, I was already approved for visitig at Jamestown, will this approval be OK for San Quentin also? (I did try calling SQ and was never able to speak to a live human being :argh: )

Thank you all again!

Hmmmm I do not know any of these answers for sure so take my answers as is,as only "maybes". When my guy was out to court before and after court he was housed at Tracy which is a reception center then transfered back to his regular prison.I do not think San Quentin is a reception center but since he didn't finish out his court case in county perhaps he is just waiting at SQ to return to county for court or perhaps for some reason SQ is where he will be housed now? Again I do not know I am just guessing
I was always under the impression that when you were approved for one Ca. prison you were approved for all but I found that NOT to be the case in my situation.I was not allowed to see him whhile he was at Tracy until I filled out another visiting form and got approved which I didn't have time to do because he was there less then a week.I would keep calling SQ until you get a live person and ask if you are allowed there since you are approved at Jamestown and see what they say.

Welcome to PTO! I wish you and your guy the best of luck with all this, believe me I know it gets confusing and frusturating at times! Hang in theer

Your boyfriend should be transferred back to Jamestown. He was sent to San Quentin to be transferred back. Inmates taken out to court are usually placed within the nearest Reception Center and then transferred after the county is through with them.

I would call the transfer room at San Quentin Reception Center and make sure they have his out to court packet so he can be transferred back. Don't ask me how but alot of paperwork gets lost and sometimes inmates are left sitting in the Reception Center along time before being transferred.

Ladies-
Thank you for the "welcome's" and for the info. He is back at Jamestown now, but because his transfer was a mistake, they are going to have to move him again so we can get this court case resolved... auugghhh:mad: Dealing with all of this 'stuff' is so frustrating and time consuming, it's like having a second job, but my Pooh is worth it!
Thanks again,
