To visit an inmate, the visitor must first be on that inmate's approved visiting list for privileged visiting (basic visiting is not offered at SCCI). If a visitor has already been approved at one institution for privileged visiting, they need not gain further approval when the inmate is transferred to SCCI, unless a specific request is made from the institution. All requests for additions to an inmate's visiting list must be made by the inmate. The inmate will notify you when you have been placed on his/her approved visiting list. You must wait for this notification form the inmate prior to a visit, since the clearance process may take up to 30 days from when the application is submitted. Inmates are also provided with Visiting Policy Overview information which they can send to their visitors. For more information about visiting, click on the link below or ask the inmate you wish to visit for a copy of the Visiting Policy Overview.
Please Note: Effective October 6, 2003, advance scheduling of visits is no longer required.
All visitors will be subject to the provisions of the DOC Rule on Inmate Visiting (http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_200/OAR_291/291_127.html).
