My husband is currently in NM, extradited from ID. His attorney has asked that I obtain the records of his incarceration at Kootenai County Public Safety Building and the actual record of his arrest, etc. There was a lot of monkey business going on between the DA in NM and the DA in Kootenai County regarding my husband. Can anyone give me a clue where to start? The PD's office? WAH! I'm so lost on this!
Thanks,
DeniseS
I may be a little late on this and you may have what you need, but if it was me I would start with the county jail. I know that right here in Boise you can get arrest information or police reports and such from the county sheriffs office

Anytime I have wanted records I have had to go to where the charges were filed. Hoping for your sake it was in Idaho and not NM!!!

I actually got down to CdA yesterday and got the arrest report (went to the jail first and the deputy says "he's not back is he?" cos it was visting time - HEE!) and also went to the Justice Building and got a 6 page record of all the times he went to court because NM hadn't come to get him yet and the judges (yep, different one every time) giving NM enough time. It took them 4 months to get the Governor's Warrant and now they are "pretending" that he was not arrested until he arrived in NEW MEXICO! This paperwork was needed in order to 1) prove he was arrested on 12/3/03 and 2) that NM knew where he was the whole time! NM has a 6 month rule. They have to take you for prelim within 6 months of the date of your arrest. That would be 6/3...his prelim is scheduled for 6/25!
They're always playing games with our lives!
