i am trying to find out if any other people are having trouble gaining permission to marry an inmate in an arkansas prison. if you have had a problem gaining permission or if you have been denied, would you share this with me? as a class action we may be able to get things better for us all.

I have thought about marrying my fiance while he's in prison, but we're probably going to wait until he gets out. What kind of problems are you having?

bottom line, we have been denied the request to marry, we have filed a grievance on the issue, but the top of DOC just went along with the original decision. i know what the DOC policy says... inmates have a right to marry, but of course there are a lot of rights we all have Right?, RIght...anyway, if we can show that the right to marry HAS been given to others, or if others are being denied, delayed, put-off, forced to go through the grievance procedure etc., well maybe it'll clear the way for others... thanks for response
