Hello all I joined this board a few days ago. My oldest daughter has never had contact with her biological father, my first love, but we have been looking for him this year because she is 15 and wants to met him. I found him and he is in mid-state correctional facility and could be there till 2010. So we are going to go visit him in July. Thing is I am scared. I have never dealt with this at all. I don't know how to get to there or what to expect when I get there. Or what he can or can't do etc.. could someone please take the time to fill me in on this facility. What to expect when I walk in and what to do or not do when I bring our daughter there to met him for the first time. We have been writing back and forth and all he says is that it is like a college campus but I someone don't see it that way. Any help??

hey gina! i already PM-ed u to tell u that i don't know much about it!

i want to let u know though, that it does seem to be more of a "chill" place. my fiance is there. his best friend is also there and a friend of my mom's too. we have all of our inmates there! i know that the solitary visits r laid back. i visit from 5-9 on saturdays, and the CO's r very nice. the food is cheap. the visiting room is HUGE! there r actually 2 of them. it doesn't have the "jail" look to it i guess. it is a medium facility, so they do have more freedom there. i am not sure of what kind of info ya want but that's all i got! :D

it's med security, they have picnics, there are two indoor visiting rooms (both have vending machibes) and you could also go outside (weather permitting) where there are maybe 10-15 tables. it's very laid back and the Co's are decent.
