Just wanted to say Hi and say that SVSP isn't the greatest but it isn't the worst either. I have been visiting here for years. C yard where we are gets overcrowded a lot. D yard is always on lock down and you have to make appointments. E yard is SLOW and I don't know much about A or B yard.

All I could say about Salinas is GET THERE EARLY, thats if you want a good #. I was up there this weekend (then again I'm there every weeknd) I think they had two incidents; car cutting and this lady asking for like 4 passes and she was the only one in the car (she got them). But other than that its not as bad it could probably could be worse. Welcome aboard

Hi we are from San Diego, welcome to PTO, we are fairly new to this too. I have visited my brother twice in the last 4 months, everything has run smoothly when we've gone, just some extra info (don't know exactly what you know) but only 5 visitors per inmate per visit, and you may only take $30 in singles or quarters. we wish you the best for when you have to opportunity to visit your husband. take care, and hang in there.

Hi,

I go to Salinas Valley every other weekend, I also live in San Francisco, I visit on B yard, its okay but you should get there early if you want to get a good number, it's just a matter of staying up on all the changes that seem to happen every time you look around, and make sure you bring a change of clothes just in case.

It really isn't that bad once you get used to it.

Because they're so picky about clothing, chances are you'll wear something that isnt allowed!!

If its the wrong color, too tight, too low cut, etc they'll make you change! I'm a big girl, so I can't guarantee they'll have clothes to fit me so I try to keep a change of clothes and shoes in my trunk.

For example, at corcoran atleast, you can't wear black converse shoes. You can't wear hooded jackets/shirts, you cant wear certain colors.. etc!!!

Plus what you wear one week, may not be okay the next week.. depends on the C/O!!!!! Fun Stuff :)
