Ok, my sweetheart has been in STATE custody for a little over a year now and STILL has no TPM. What in the heck is going on? This is absolutely ridiculous. Guess we will just have to CONTINUE to wait! :blah:

Has anyone else had better luck with the GA DOC? I sure hope so!

You hang in there... you are such a strong and awesome woman!

you know how it goes girl......one day at a time. Prayer is SOOOO powerful!! I know you already know all this stuff i'm saying, but it's always good to hear it and have it brought to the front. God bless y'all!!!

I agree that it takes way to long for these TPM's. My son has been in since September 26th, 2002 and we still don't have one. I also would like to know why in all other state the Govener has power but in Georgia, the board of parole and pardons has all the power. Don't these yahoos know that the Govener is the voice of the state? Sonny Perdue reminds me of such a smuck! Its like he trys to side step all issues except what da-n flag we should be flying!

I agree with you Kebela1, our govenor is a smuch. He makes people think that he is the greatest. You never know what kind of state we have until your loved one is incarrcerated here. My fiance told me that he read an article in the paper that was from the Board of P&P that said the parol board members are supposed to go by the GRID system but instead they don't. The GRID system in there for a reason. These people are voting on cases and not even going by the GRID's points system, instead they are going off the GRID. Basically, the board is going to be reviewed by someone and that they are going to have to start going by the GRID and not making up their own sentence time. Something has to give or I am going to go off on someone. Luckily my fiance' already has his TPM and that we are at the end of his sentence but I am thinking about all these other cases that are dragging along. He also heard that some cases are being put to the side and then they become lost in the system. I am just in an uproar- this is not FAIR at all.

Dear Ms. :

Thank you for writing to request assistance in the release of your fiancé,
state inmate (his name). As Governor, I value input from
Georgia's citizens and appreciate your taking the time to share your
concerns with me.

Unfortunately, however, this is a matter under the jurisdiction of the
state Board of Pardons and Paroles, and I am unable to intervene. I am
taking the liberty of forwarding your letter to the Chairman Milton E.
Nix, Jr. of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, so that he can review
your comments and respond to you directly...

**Now tell me what you think about that?**

here is what a lady at the parole board told me,she said an inmate has to do a 1/3 of his sentence before his case will be reviewed,my son has been in there 2 year went in in 2007 1/3 of his sentence will be 2012 so she said it would be then when his case comes up for review, when the state gets you ,you can say you been got, they will hold you as long as possible no matter how sick you are.

Hi, I just wanted to point out that these posts are from 2004 and most of these users are no longer active within PTO... So you may not get any responses from them... :D
