I watched this story the other night and it really raised some concerns with me...first of all, the reporter was allowed to speak to 3 inmates, then, when he arrived at Newton, they only allowed him to video 1, but not allowed to tape an interview with him. The reporter also reported that the Prison Facilities told him the transfers were all on a volunteer basis, but the inmates were saying it was NOT volunteered, they were forced. The inmates that were sent to Newton, were told it would only be temp., but they've been there since Dec. 2002!!! That doesn't exactly seem to be a temp. arrangement to me. It just made me feel uneasy about the so-called temp. transfers they are currently doing. Tim hasn't been called up to go (so far) but, it just has me worried for him and the others, that this so-called temp transfer, will become perm.. Just my thoughts.

I e-mailed Dan, the reporter of that story and I haven't receieved a responce. It was mentioned that there will a story on Monday night, about the price that AZ tax payers pay these privates prisons and I wanted to give him a little more info., thinking maybe he would look into it. Who knows, maybe he'll just disreguard what I had to say all together...we'll see.
