My honey is in Ventress and was denied parole last month....because he didn't take a drug program...has anyone heard of them getting another parole hearing if they complete the drug program????

i am from ala welcome, first make sure he gets sap. r he wont get out, they keep saying there will be a big release but i am still waiting. my husband is there for possesion and was denied also the first time. how long does he have. and welcome

welcome to PTO....I'm not sure if they reconsider them after they finish the class but i do know that they will not release until the class is completed...THere was 3 guys at Bibb that were granted parole pending the completion of the class

Thanks! He got in the S.A.P.P. program starting next week!!! So hopefully he will get out soon after that! Has anyone heard anything else about early release once drug program is completed??

There have been many non-violent offenders released early, especially a lot of those on drug charges/first time offenders once they've completed SAP... it's not a definite but it certainly could happen the way things are in Alabama right now.... good luck :)

Girl i wish, i stil haent heard anything else about this so called big release. i think its just a rumor. My baby too will finish sap soon. i called the board and they said they have alot of those files on hold but didnt say why. hearings are set till at least july 2, she said she doesnt think there will be any others set b 4 then, but i am still praying. How long does he have and what is his charge

Welcome to pto.I don't know how long it will take for him to come back up for parole, but if he is non-violent, chances are great that he will come back up after he completes sap. it appears the the board wants all inmates to have sap reguardless of their crime. good luck and best wishes.

joe was in on an obstruction of justice charge (nothing drug related) was not told he had to take sap, he signed up for it came up for parole during the class got a two week notice to get his home and job plan together, he was then denied.....he finished the class, about 3 weeks later he came up for parole and was approved....who knows why they waste time on that first hearing....has happened to alot of them

I was at Ventress, myself, for 18 months, and they make you take sap. If you take the 4 or 6 month programs or longer, usually the parole board is notified. Several of my friends got out because of it. I left there 14 months ago. EOSed.

my husband is also at Ventress right now. I just found out Monday that they have put him in a class that has already started. They are due to graduate end of September. He also did say that they are suppose to release a total of 600 people from Ventress alone due to budget cuts. Also, there are 350 people waiting to be sent to Ventress not including people that they have not processed yet.

Robby just finished the Crime Bill Program the one that is 6 months and like boot camp @ Ventress. Robby was a non-violent drug offender who not supposed to get a parole hearing until 2006 but he did. We have never been residents there either he was going to Panama from Ga, I don't think that has anything to do w/ it but who in the hell knows how these people think.
He had his 1st parole hearing on June 1st 2004 and was granted parole on the condition that he graduate from the program and he just graduated Friday July 23,2004. BUT now we don't know his release date so now I have to call them and bug the crap out of them to tell me!!!!!!!

Hello everyone I am DSides my boyfriend has been in Prison for 18 months now his EOS is 8-7-2005 for a DUI Felony He had a parole hearing March 29, 2004 was denied with reset. Pending completion of TC program the only thing is that she is not graduating anyone right now. I would love it if someone would help me to understand what the SAPP Program is or is it about the same thing? You would think that they would release all of the non violent inmates that have served a year and that have been to at least one parole hearing. Someone said to him that the Federal Gov was surposed to take over in Sept of this year. Any truth to this. And what about the big release. I have been searching on the internet for news articles to help me with this with no luck no confirmations as of yet. thanks for your help and support.................. D

Hey! I think alot of what we hear about a big release and the feds is just a rumor. My fiance is in SAP right now and they don't have tv's nor can they receive newspapers...he told me that he heard that Ventress is going to have to release about 800 before September and he said it is in the news and papers...I have searched and can't find a thing! So....I think the rumors are their way of "surviving" in prison. I hope to God that this rumor turns out to be true!!!!!

Well it might be a good idea to call the warden and ask him he should know!!!! Its not a good thing to find out that people have been lieing about things like this. Just look what happened when we found out there were no .........oh shucks......ok you know that man that dresses up and takes all the credit for what we do as parents at Christmas. Ok have any of your boyfriends/ or husbands had any parole hearings within the last three months and got denied with reset??? Have any had any new hearings or been paroled? I will keep searching for the news but I think your right. And its not fair for them or us, even though they are senteced we doing the time!!!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE!!!! I feel like I am in prison every day!

I am still battling for a release date we sent in his 2nd home about 7 weeks ago, now they say they don't have it after I spent 2 days tracking down his file b/c it was "LOST"!!!!! of course!!!! Now we have to wait again for the paper work for the out of state transfer which takes 4x as long as an instate transfer. when he was paroled I was so grateful and thought ok won't be long now and I told our son he would be home in around the the end of July b/c that was what we were told. We made a calendar to count down the days well I look like the liar again!!!! I can handle the disappointment but my 4 y/old son, Gavin can't:angry: . We told him he would be here for the 1st day of school -wrong, his b-day is in 2 weeks we said he would be here -wrong again!!! I just want to break down and cry b/c I am constantly disappointing Gavin. He comes home everday and says is my daddy home and everyday it kills me to say "not yet but soon" :confused: I am about to go crazy! My kid has even Santa for his daddy back. He has never been for a birthday. We got one Christmas but Gavin was only 3 months old.
