Daniel got hit at the Board last week. The denial had the following sentence:

"Demonstrated limited insight into violent behaviour."

Can anyone tell me if they've ever heard this one before?

Thanks.

I have never particularly heard of that being on a parole denial... and yet it makes sense to me.... I am a therapist and "limited insight" is a key barrier in lots of issues.... For example, I used to work in substance abuse, and many times i have stated as a therapist that a client's "limited insight into relapse" was a reason for them to be ordered to complete inpatient rather than outpatient treatment.....
Would be happy to discuss this via PMs too if I can be of some help in "translating" what they MAY have been trying to say... AND what may need to be different the next time he goes to the board......

Thanks for your response, jdswife. I have difficulty with the Board's pronouncement since they only asked him one question on the matter... "Why did you commit the crime?" He took full responsibility and did not try to make excuses. He successfully completed the required program prior to his incarceration. He was asked to be a facilitator for the program by the facility counsellor, even before he entered the facility program. He has yet to be evaluated on his progress. Oh... and there was no violence involved in the commission of the crime. So what criteria and rating system are they basing this conclusion on? Any insight you can give me is appreciated.
