I'm in Wiscosnin. I live about 30 miles from Oshkosh. I know several people that have been there. My husband is in prison but at the max in Waupun. Is there anyhting specific you would like to know about Oshkosh. Let me know if I can help.

Hi there... i live about 20 minutes from Oshkosh and did some work there while i was in college. That was 11 years ago, so i'm not sure how much it's changed. My baby is in Waupun and i'm finding out how much racial discrimination is going on there. I'm white and Derek is black...... we've been targeted by many of the female guards and i even was accused of 'exposing my breast' to him when i was adjusting my bra (they just don't fit right after taking the wires out of them... :)... I got my visitation suspended for 90 days. I appealed it with the security director, then the warden and now i've taken it to the DOC in Madison. They continue to refuse me the ability to view this 'tape' of my behavior, which is violating my rights. They've messed with a law student and while i don't know everything, i have a wealth of resources at my fingertips. I'll continue to fight this to remind them they're not 'God'. We get our visits back July 10, but the battle doesn't end there. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!! Take care and stay safe. Karen

We were on our way to Lawrence in Ill and noticed a brightly lit up prison right near WiSc Dells, on the No side of I 90. Wondered which one it was. Suddenly you notice prisons.

A prison near the Dells? Hmmm.... I have never seen that one! I didn't know that there was any in that area. I am curious as to know which one this is!

It is on the north side of I 90 before the Dells. All lit up!

Hi, my boyfriend is in Oshkosh, I live in West Allis in Milwaukee county, I been looking for someone to ride with me, havent been yet because i get nervous driving such an distane by my self.

Corinia have them send you an visiting brochure, it would list the hours and days. I think OCI is pretty decend, my man gets to call me as late as 11:30 pm sometimes even later.

Heres some information for everyone wondering about Oshkosh.
Here are the Visitation hours
Monday - Friday = 3:00pm til 9:00pm
Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays = 8:00am til 4:00pm
Weekday visits can be up to 3 hours long and weekend and holidays are 2 hours long. Maximum number of visitors can be 12. Six adults and six children.

I have one of the pamphlets so if anyone needs info just ask!

My boyfried just left Oshkosh (now in Oakhill) and he said he misses it as far as prisons go....... He also gained about 20 pounds there too.

The visiting area is nicer than the other two Iv'e been to, and you may go outside and sit if you choose. All the guards were friendly and helpful.

I use to work there and my baby is in there now. Any questions, I can help.

My first visit was on Friday and I really enjoyed it. We had a chance to go outside and enjoy some freash air. The guards were petty cool too.

I didnt like the ride by my self thou. So if there is anyone that visit frequently and would like to carpool please let me know.

She is refering to the prison at New Lisbon. Columbia is by Portage which is off I-39/old 51/78 and hwy 16. Portage is SE of the Dells. I go by Columbia at least twice a month on the Way up to Dells and Adams. (My brother was at Columbia for about 2 months) now he is back in Waupun. Havent seen him in over a year, he wants no visits from anyone............

Hi! My boyfriend has been in Oshkosh I would say over a year now and I haven't seen him since hes been in their because when i filled out the visting form they denied me because i was a victim of when he got caught or some bull crap like that. He got to send me another one recently because he asked the warden what he could do to get me on his visting list she said to try and fight so who knows I know if i get accepted im going to feel really nervous because ive never been their and then the whole procedure of getting in their and then seeing him for the first time in so long... I really want to go see him. I live in between wis dells and wis rapids and ive been to oshkosh a couple times but don't know the area that good. The only way I keep in touch with him is thru mail and it is very hard. Ive talked to him twice on the phone in the whole time hes been in their only because his sister called me on 3 way but i can receive calls from their so thats why it sucks but i know that my phone bill would be sky high if i was to let him call dont get me wrong i dont care about money but i hope yah can understand what I mean. I guess from what my hunnie tells me its not that bad their they treat him good so that makes me happy I dont get to br in my hunnies arms till nov06 :( but if anyone knows anything about oshkosh or wants to talk get a hold of me thanks

hi everyone.....im writing this to everyone who goes to oshkosh correctional to visit my car broke down and its gonna cost a lot to fix it.....i live in fond du lac 20 south of oshkosh and have no way to get up there to see my man....i was hoping to get up there around the holidays to see him but have no way to get there....so if u are passing through fdl and could stop occasionally and pick me up to visit with him until my car is fixed it would be greatly appericated.....thank you nicole

Hello, my man has been in OshKosh since 2000. I havent seen him in almost 2 years since I moved to Michigan and distance has been sooo hard on us. I'm hoping to move back by February so things will be so much easier on us. Hoping maybe to make a friend or two by the time I get there. To share the trip. I use to ride with friends there who were visiting their honey before, then he was paroled and I made the trip NUMEROUS of times ALONE. And that is such a bummer to do.

my husband is in oshkosh since a yr ago when his case reolved via and alford plea...he will be there 5yrs....he was arrested 2 days after we married...so not even a honeymoon...we were waiting for the wknd..... he was in jail for almost 1 1/2yrs here and there while awaiting his trial.... oshkosh is the nicest of visitng rooms we have had...but the distance with gas prices is terible...its 2 1/2 hrs for me..... i do go through several cities on my way there from west of Madison.... if anyone ever wants to share the ride/gas.....it would be nice to have tyhe company too...especially when visits go bad and i am crying all the way home :( i only get there 2 per month right now...but if someone wanted to share the cost i would go every week.... email me ... .. i have wanted to wear a fancier dress to a visit...more like a wedding dress since we eloped and i didnt get to wear it :( ... anyone know what is alllowed or not ?
i considered doing a renewal of vows if he steps up and starts therapy more intensely and is willing to sign a post nup.... i have lots of doubts about surviving the next 4 yrs of his incarceration....we have so many unresolved issues... especially the betrayal of his NOT telling me of his convictions before we married....

how many phone calls are they allowed to make from Oshkosh? Can they call everyday? I read someone said at late as 11:30pm?
