MISSION:
Houses close security general population inmates.

HOUSING:
There are six housing units with double-bunk cells. The seventh housing unit is single cells for isolation/segregation inmates.

WORK DETAILS:
Correctional Industries, Food Service, Institutional Maintenance and Sanitation, Environmental Activities, State Parks and Georgia State Patrol.


PROGRAMS:

Academic: GED, ABE, Literacy, Remedial, GSAMS

Substance Abuse: Substance Abuse Education, AA/NA

Counseling: Sex Offender, Positive Mental Attitude, Prerelease, Health Awareness

Recreation: General Recreation

Religious Activities: Various Worship Services, Bible Study, Pastoral Counseling, Gospel Group Staff Ministry

Vocational/OJT: Diesel Mechanics, Custodial Maintenance, Food Preparation, Correctional Industries

DIRECTIONS:
From Atlanta: I-75 South to I-16 East to Exit 14 (Dublin). Turn right onto Highway 319/441 to McRae. At McRae turn right onto Highway 23/341. Go approximately two miles to Irwinton Street. Turn right. Telfair SP is two miles on the right.

hi i'm kesha i'm new on this and with the system so if anyone could give me some info on telfair state prison would be helpful, my fiance was just transferred there today to serve his time

Ladies, I have got to get down there to see my baby, I live in Atlanta and getting down to see him has become an obstacle. Does anyone live in Atlanta or close by, that would like to car pool? I am 25 years old and have been with Anthony forever, I usually find a way through family, but since they can't be on his list they can't come in so they have to sit outside from 10:00am- 3:00pm and that is a big reason why it's been so long since I went. We are gonna get married soon and I really love and miss him. I'm a student and I work and I know that it's very expensive gas wise, especially now since the prices have gone up. It used to cost me $30 in gas, plus $10 for his snacks. :idea: If anyone would like to share a ride with a very normal and down to earth woman, and share the cost of the trip PLEASE CONTACT ME. My son is at telfair, The officers are fairly to very nice. visit= very very strict, on what you wear and how close you sit. the counselours some are horrible others are very very nice.
I just figured maybe that's why some inmates are turned off, because some of the staff at the prisons are mean.
they eat 2 meals on the weekends, they have fights, maybe not so often but they do.
I'm not sure what you are trying to ask, but here is a brief of some of the things i noticed.

I think closed security is when inmates have a hard to not so hard time of adjusting.
Which means they are usually hard headed and get into more trouble than usual.
now don't shout my head off, if i am wrong I apologize, but that is what I understand closed to be. as a matter of fact call classification, they will tell you,.

My husband is in there. I think I have to agree, send a birthday card, because unless it isn't on the approved list, he won't get it..........I have been there once, and talk to them at least once a week, pm me if I can help you somehow......:)

you are allowed to send any types of card as long as it doesn"t contain pornography. as far as gift goes.he has to send you a paper what they call a "package form list" and only the item that was approved on the package list can be sent within 30 days of the approval date list on bottom of the page.

Hi, I have a cousin that's in for life at Telfair and I want to send him a letter. I got the P.O. Box from this website where to send it but do I have to put his GDC # on it in order for him to get it and if so, can someone please tell me how to find out what his # is? Also, from reading post here, I noticed that some prisons require us to be on the inmates visitation list or else they're not allowed to receive our mail...is that true? I also have a friend in prison at Pulaski State Prison(which is where I actually read the info concerning receiving mail from those on the visitation list only)and I dont have her GDC #...nor am I on anyone's visitation list. I pray that's not correct because Im sure that would leave inmates with very little contact!

adt ga Welcome to PTO and the Ga forums go here http://www.dcor.state.ga.us/ You will find there GDC numbers here do a look up for them.No you dont have to be on the visit list to write good luck..
