Has anyone ever been to Western Wayne Correctional Institute in Plymouth?
My girl is classified as security level I, and is allowed contact visits. I realize the visitation procedures are probably a little bit different at a womens facility, I was wondering if anyone might have some insight as to how things work.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

Able.. unfortunately, I don't know much about the prison system in Michigan. Personally, I severed time in NCCIW>... North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women, and it was actually a max. security prison.
Like I said, I can't speak for womens prisons in Michigan, but in NC, I know our visits went as follows.....
My visitor would have to sit across from me... if they sat beside me, we could only hold hands, that was it. There was a hug/kiss or whatever at the beginning of the visit, and one at the end....
I think, for the most part, as long as you act like you got some sense, it'll be okay. Hang on for a bit, I'm sure someone will come along with more helpful information.
Oh, and by the way.. welcome to PTO!!!! :)

Able,
Try contacting the MDOC. They have an internet site. Within the site there should be an email address available. Ask them for a copy of the visitation rules. I would be surprised if they don't have them available in an electronic version or hard copy to send you.
You may be limited to the type of items that you can bring into the facility, what type of clothing and colors you can wear.
YOu can even try calling the facility. They should have a visiting department that can answer your questions.
Good Luck
