amendments to the sentencing guidelines and the reasons for
the amendments.

No problem. These amendments will become part of the Guidelines on November 1, 2004, unless Congress intervenes (as has happened in just one instance).

How do these ammendments apply to drug or robbery inmates ? Has anyone heard of the Medical Release Program started on the east coast this spring ?

They will not apply to any inmates - sentenced inmates that is - because they are sentencing guidelines and are not retroactive (unless specifically stated).
Anyone sentenced after they go into effect COULD be held to them - there are other criteria.

My Boyfriend Told Me He Got A Presentence Report And It Said 37 Months. Would He Have To Do The Whole 37 Months? Also Why Dont They Have Family Visit In The Federal Prison Systems?

He will have to do the entire 37 months, less 47 good conduct days per year.

You can visit anytime ! My brother is in a federal facility and we have visited him several times. Also, friends can visit !

first he needs to be sentenced as it could be different from the PSR. He will serve 85% of the time. My husband's PSR said 42 months but the judge gave him 60 months.
my fiance is in FDC philly Pre-Trial on an intent to manufacture charge..........does anyone understand, having read these guidelines, how this might affect his sentencing?
