Okay, so I have a cousin who I thought was in EOCI (he was last week), so I called to get info on visiting and they told me he was moved to "the Valley" and hung up on me. Very nice. Anyway, I called OSP, since that is in Salem and in "the Valley" and they verified that he's there, but they couldn't give me ANY information on how long he'll be there, what unit he's in, etc.

She suggested I try the visit room, but they were "too busy" to take my call and asked me to call back later (even though it's between visit sessions right now, so they're not processing anybody or anything).

So... I have some general questions that I'm hoping someone here can answer...

1. Do visit lists transfer from institution to institution? If I was on his list at EOCI, do I need to re-apply at OSP?
2. Do all units visit at the same time on the same days? The DOC website lists 7:15-10:15 and 12:30-3:45 as visit times. Is this current?
3. What can I take in the visit room? Change? Pictures?

I'm so aggravated at their lack of desire to even answer my simplest of questions. If I get hung up on again.. I'm going to have a cow!

LOL... please don't have a cow!
Although, I do need some meat!

Hopefully you will get your answers soon! Keep us posted on what you find out.

1. Do visit lists transfer from institution to institution? If I was on his list at EOCI, do I need to re-apply at OSP?
**No. The visiting list go right with the inmate wherever he goes as long as he goes to a PRISON, not a camp nor a jail. You can go to OSP and flash your ID.

2. Do all units visit at the same time on the same days? The DOC website lists 7:15-10:15 and 12:30-3:45 as visit times. Is this current?
**Sadly, no... The visiting dates are 7 days a week regardless. The morning session are from 7 am to 10:15 am with earliest possible sign-in at 7 am. The afternoon session is from, yes, 12:30 pm to 3:45. However, the earliest possible sign-in is 11 am.
Good news, you can visit twice a day even on weekends! Maximum of 4 visitors per inmate per session.

3. What can I take in the visit room? Change? Pictures?
**You can only take the ID's, two keys (car & lobby locker), one hair accesory, 5 photos per inmate per session regardless of number of visitors... with a kid, you can take in 1 diaper, 1 wipe, 1 clear bottle (cups not allowed), 1 pacifier and 1 blankie.

I know those are very helpful!
