Hello everyone. I know that it has been along time since I have posted but I have been very busy working 18 hours a day trying to survive this nightmare. Anway, today the phone rang and it wasn't a number that I knew so when they asked for me, I said I wasn't there. There are so many bill collectors calling wanting money for all of the hospital bills that James ran up when he was in. Anyway, I asked to take a message and wrote down the number, then she told me that she was from the parole board. I about stroked, but didn't want to say that it really was me after I told her it wasn't. I have to call her back sometime tomorrow. Does anyone know why they would call and want information reguarding my son when it is like 10 more years before he gets out? Does anyone know what kind of questions that they are going to ask me? I am kind of nervous. I was just wondering if anyone else has already been through this. Thanks in advance for any informaton and listening to me have my nervous breakdown!

Hey Barbara...
good to see you around :) I haven't had a call from the Parole Board yet, unless that is who has been calling and coming up as "OUT OF AREA" every day on my caller ID lol! But the Parole Board did meet with my fiance's father and asked him questions about him and his past, etc.
I hope someone comes along with more information for you soon :)
Take care and get some sleep woman! 18 hour days, yowza!!!

The number that came up on my caller ID was a local number. I wouldn't think it would come from out of area. Probably the office in your own area would call, but I really don't know. You said your fiance's father got an interview? Did they want to know about the inmates past or about the people in the houses past? I am just so stressed over this. James wasn't old enough to have a past. He just worked and took care of his girlfriend and their children. I have worked so much and am so over tired and stressed over this phone call I can't sleep. I would much rather talk to the woman in person than on the phone. I do better face to face and also, it really could be anyone calling. I would really like to see some identification. That is why I say I am not home when strange people call. I don't trust anyone calling and asking questions over the phone. Please pray for my son and my family that this is a good thing and not a bad thing with the parole board. I don't know how much more bad I can take in my life. It seems like just when things were finally getting better for our family, the accident happened and now I live in a nightmare everyday of my life.

Barbara,
Try not to stress too much. The PO that met with my fiance's dad just wanted to know about his family, relationships, personality, etc. Nothing bad and it was pretty short and sweet he said.

The both of you are in my prayers :) Seriously, don't stress yourself out over anything, everything will be ok!

Barbara,
Don't stroke! I had that one for you! The Parole Board will call to establish his history. This they use when they determine his TPM. The woman that I spoke with was very nice, very personable and I did in turn ask her questions. Take the time to do that, this is the moment that you are on their desk, ready to be handled (so to speak). Whoever you speak to, get their name and personal number...you may need it down the road.

So, relax...it's ok.
