DeniseJ 04-29-2004, 12:21 PM I sent GSPack a email telling her to visit this forum, but i guess she's been busy with that grandbaby of hers..i'm sure she'll be around soon..
We all understand your worries. The best way to deal with the "worries" for me is always to read, read, read...if you do a seach on Tutwiler here in the alabama forum i'm sure you'll get alot of useful information.
You have already made a wise choice in joining PTO, you'll find lots of understanding and support here...

GSPack 04-29-2004, 12:50 PM Hi Im4U...Sorry yes I am chasing the beloved Granddaughter around and feilding calls from MILaw, but I got sidetracked and was reading other posts that you done to try and get an idea about you and your wife....LOL Thank You Lysbeth for the the kind words and Yes Denise I did get the email..TY for the heads up..LOL I am behind as I am about to embark on an Retreat for Women with Loved ones incarserated and am bogged down and can't get up....LOL
Okay for you now...First things first..depending on how long it is before they transport your wife from county to State..you can deposit $ into her money account and that will go with her and be available for her as soon as she is processed like within a couple of days. Not sure about the Males watching her shower but i think they have plenty of female officers for the induction process so she won't be too embarassed, but one she is in main population she will not have any privacy as all toilet facilities and shower facitilies are open to camera's. This is supposidely to deter any sexual actiivties among the inmates themselves and Guards. The spray is for Lice and is used to keep it from spreading to the inmate..It is nasty but better to have it done so that one does not get these insipid little bugs. She will then go to a holding area called classification where she will be assigned a counselor who will evaluate her case file..IE. charges and sentencing and any requirements made by the court. The length of time she will be here in classification depends on how much space is available and when a bed opens up. She needs to have all your personal info to take with her soo that she can put you on her mailing list for $ and phone calls. She will not be able to call until they approve this list. You can write & send stamps ONLY to her as long as you have her AIS #. (Remember that the prison will only take Postal Money Orders and get them from your Hometown Post office) Your personal info is DR LIC # SS#; DOB; Mailing Address and phone # and if you guys have kids you need to send SS#'s and DOB also and have a copy of Nortorized Birthcertificate with you so that the kids can visit when the time comes.I understand that SAP..Substance Abuse Program is 6 weeks long..and must be completed before she would be eligible for any release. I dont know the details of her charges so that will depend on how they classify her as minimum sercurity, medium, to High Risk. The prison is set up into large dorm like rooms similar to Baskketball courts with bunk beds set very very close together. I will Pm you and give you my email addy if you have anything you want to ask in private.
Hope this helps and sorry it took me so long to answer!

She will have to complete sap so tell her to take it as soon as she gets there. why is she in, how long is her time for. what part of chilton cty are you from. i know loads of people there. i understand how you feel my husband is in for short time and i am simply going nutty to put it mild. he is already in sap til june its 8 weeks. is this her first time. i would guess yes since you have questions, you will find a close knit family here who really cares. i am on here alot dont know anything about tutwiler but can help with other questions. if you feel the need to vent we understand that too we do it all the time, but you know that since were women, lol will be back to check on you hope ya stick around. you can send her letters now to the county and then to tut soon or wherever she goes soon as you find out where she is just get the address and her bed # just call where she is and they will give you the info and answer most questions. if they are not nice try again different shifts and different cos are helpful
