No... you have to have a valid ID, driver's license and or passport in order to visit. The receipt from the DMV clearly says on it that this is not a temporary and or valid ID and that is what the facility will go off of.

Some facilities are pretty understand if your ID is within a few days of the expiration date but I'm not exactly sure how SOL will be.

I have a visiting appointment for regular visit...is there 5 visitors allowed for regular contact visit? Also i scheduled the visit under my name only...did I need to schedule everyones name? Or can we just provide everyones name etc. there, when we visit, as long as i have an appointment? How strict are they there with pants....is black demin ok? And how high up do ladies shirts have to be? Also can i wear my stylish thin scarf? If traveled more than 6 hours, how long do they allow you to visit for? What's the lonfest visiting hours anyones ever got? If appointment is 9ish do we need to arrive very early like at 6am to wait in car line? Do you bring quaters loose do they need to be in those coin wrappers that u get from bank? If 5 visit all together does all have to leave together or can some leave 1st and the rest leave latter? Sorry new at this prison...are they nice there officers that process visitors?

Five visitors are allowed, as for if some can leave & some can stay I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do that.

Your name on the list is just fine... When they call your name just tell them how many adults are w/you & they will give you the correct amount of visiting slips.

Black denim & your scarf is fine (at least they're okay w/it on level 3 yard). Your cleavage should be minimal.

It isn't about how far you come but how often you visit i.e. if you travel 250+ miles & this is your first weekend visiting you will not be terminated BUT let's say you travel 250+ miles & you still visit every weekend they can & will term your visit if it gets to crowded.

As for when you should arrive maybe a good 15 minutes before your appointment but don't be more than 10 minutes late because them you'll have to wait to go in as a walk-in @ 12p.

And the quarters can be loose or rolled they don't fuss over it & you can bring dollar bills nothing more than $1.00... Each adult is allowed up to $50 in quarters or ones & each minor is allowed up to $30.

The C/O's are pretty fair from what I've seen but then again I stick to myself most of the time...

When is your visit?

Have fun!!!

Visitors do not have to leave at the same time but they must arrive at the same time.

I think all ur other questions have been answered.

I wore my denim that was acceptable at previous prisons and could not make it thru the metal detector, so definitely bring a change of clothes just in case.

Yes, you may wear black jeans (make sure they look black and not navy blue) at Solano. However, I never wear jeans because I am always concerned with not making it through the metal detector. The detector at Solano is sensitive enough to pick up on the little eyes/hooks on the back of a bra, so I always figure I would be taking a chance with a pair of jeans and the studs and zipper.

What types of pants do I wear--normally I wear a less than figure-flattering pair of polyester/acrylic black pull-on slacks with no zipper. I keep them loose.

You'll see a lot of people get through with things that break the rules, but it really doesn't matter if twenty people ahead of you get in with something you know they shouldn't, it only matters if they stop you. And they do seem to be a bit arbitrary at times.

My observation is that women normally have problems with the length of their skirts/dresses and the amount of chest that is bared. I wear my skirts at my knee or longer. And the chest area can be a flag even if the area bared is not technically cleavage area.

My other observation is that younger women and more attractive women seem to have more problems with COs (particularly the female COs) than older women. I'm getting closer by the minute to 50 and so I really don't seem to be targeted--age does have its benefits.

I always bring at least one change of clothing in the car--normally a very loose pair of sweatpants and a loose pullover sweatshirt--both in basic and slimming black. You never know what's been going on at the prison, who's in a bad mood, and if you'll be targeted that week. Better to have a backup plan because you'll never argue your way past the COs.

Have fun on your visit.

No a minor does not need to be approved to visit if they are w/an approved adult visitor.

Keep in mind that if the minors you are bringing are your biological children then you must bring their birth certificates. If you are the legal guardian you must bring the papers stating you are the legal guardian & their birth certificate. Or if you are just an adult wanting to bring a minor for a visit you must have the minors birth certificate & a notarized permission slip from their parent/guardian.

Have a great visit!

And if that consent letter from the parents is needed, it needs to name you, the prison and the inmate, as in

To Whom it May Concern,
This letter is to grant Susan Maddison permission to escort my daughter, Jessica Louise Davis, to Shawshank State Prison to visit my brother, Jason L. Smith,
CDC#J12345.
Ms. Maddison may act in "loco parentis" in all matters and this permission shall be presumed valid for 30 days from today's date unless superceded in writing.

Must be notarized and, while not required by the prison, the "in loco parentis" consent is useful for those travelling some distance with a minor if something unforseen should happen and the minor needs medical attention or manages to find some sort of trouble while in your care.

Appointments are recommended for both level 2 & 3. You can very well make an appointment for both Saturday & Sunday. For example when I send my e-mail every Monday this is what my e-mail looks like...

Subject line... Should read the dates you want (i.e. March 3rd & 4th)

Please assign me an appointment for (whatever time you want i.e. 9am) both March 3rd & 4th.

You can visit every weekend but you have to make you're appointment two weeks in advance.

Like yesterday (the 20th) I e-mailed my appointment request @ 4am for the weekend of March 3rd & 4th then this coming Monday (the 27th) I will send my e-mail requesting a visiting appointment for the 10th & 11th of March.

They start processing visitors @ 8am & they start dismissing visits @ 230p (@ least for level 3 yards).

Appointments are not required but highly recommended... Without an appointment they do not start processing walk-ins until 12p.

It is not difficult to go every weekend both days (I do) but my visits do get terminated more frequently because of how often I visit.

I hope this helps!

I don't know about any lockdown going on right now but if he is ill you can call the facility & speak to records & get his housing. If the housing number is different than what you normally put on your envelope when you write him you can ask records if that is a medical housing or he could possibly be in Ad-Seg.

Good luck!

Hello,
I am new to this site. I recently got engaged to my man i MWI and im having some concerns and im hoping someone can clarify some things for me. He has been in CSP solano since Nov 2011 and i have not yet been able to visit him. I filled out the form the first week of December and in March 2012 i get a letter saying that i was disapproved due to the inmate taking me off the list. When i spoke to him about it he was upset and said that wasn't true. It turns out the Prison took all approved visitors off his list due to his "actions" of always getting in trouble. BUT they never even told him i was even approved. Is this true? Can the Prison take the visitors off without the inmate knowing? I've had people at work say they see him in visiting all the time but as far as i know his visits got suspended for a year and he says that is not true and that its not him. Is that possible for his visits to be revoked for that long? How can i find out about his visitation priviledges? I always get a voicemail when calling the visiting lieutenant and no one calls me back. Please give me some clarity. I don't know who to believe: him or my coworkers. A good friend of mine says that visitations dont ever get taken away especially for that long. Any information anyone can provide to put my heart and mind at ease would really be appreciated. If he is lying to me for some reason, i need to find out the truth before i put out any more money for him and marry him. Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like his visits were suspended for whatever reason (& yes they can be revoked for that long). He can speak w/his counselor (or you can call records & get his counselors extension and see if they'll talk to you personally... Sometimes they will... Sometimes they will not) and get all the information you are requesting. His counselor & the yard Captain can better answer your questions.

Good luck!

So ill be able to visit my husband here soon. After not being able to see him since December 2010!

I'm sooooo excited! We will also be setting up a conjucal soon as well :D

Anyway, when I just visit, no sandals aloud? Does it have to be enclosed shoes?

I understand no jeans, what if they are black jeans?

Can any of you ladies let me know what you wear?

This will be our first visit for over a year! I want to look as good as possible. But following the dress code!

Help!!!

How exciting!
It kind of depends on the prison but usually if the sandles have a sling-back they are allowed and black jeans are allowed if they are not tight (no skinny jeans).
I would take a back- up set of clothing that is sure to pass.
Perhaps find the forum for that prison and post there since every prison is a little different, even can change depending on the staff for that shift.
Enjoy your time together :-)

Which prison is he at?

I've been to one where no sandals were allowed (open back) and black jeans were okay.

Prison he's at now sandals/ flip flop is okay. Black jeans also okay but the metal detector is a mother.... So as long as its not to much metal on the pants.(hold the buttons tight as you pass if need be. Sometimes that helps)

But basically.. All depends where he's at. Check the guidelines at specific prison forum for that prison.

But for starts, first time id say go with solid colors, of course black is always easy. Wear something nice but that u know won't give u problems. Take a look around and learn better for the next time.
I've had to change pants and blah blah. Not fun.. Go safe!

Have fun!

He is at solano prison.

Goodness, stressful! When he was in jail it wasn't that bad.

I pretty much have to go out and buy something new to see him.

So black jeans can't be too tight? What if they are skinny jeans but the looser fit ones that aren't skin tight?

I don't know your definition of too tight. I've seen girls with too right not pass, like so tight it squashes her butt and all. If it's regular form fitting jeans material, you should be okay.
Of course is always depends on who's checking you. Where I go for instance, they lady the processes visitor on my man's side is very cool. She'll even tell you what to do to pass the metal detector. Shes more easy going unless you're wearing something that really can't pass. The lady next to her is the type to make you stand in the light and turn and around and all that extras.

Whatever you do, bring extra in the car. Like a pair of sweats u know will pass.
Go simple the first time.

Just a few questions!

Help!!!

I moved your questions to solano visiting.. I'm sure you will find more info here...

femme, sandals are allowed, even flip-flops are allowed as long as the flip-flops are not the plastic ones that easy come out of the attached holes.

As far as jeans... yes they're allowed as long as they're not blue denim all other colors are acceptable.

Be cautious with anything see threw, too tight, too short or too low (cleavage) and leggings (stretchy pants)... They do and will have you change.

Hi Mrs Tepee,

It's me again. For the life of me I cannot find a small plastic (see thru) purse or bag. Can I use a large sandwhich bag, like a zip lock bag? Also, I keep seeing posts regarding black levi's setting off the metal detector. But, you say we can wear them.......should I? My first visit and I sure don't want to get turned away after driving over 400 miles, boarding the cat , paying for a hotel, etc.

Thanks for your help! :)

A ziplock bag is perfect (I found my little bag in the travel cosmetic area at Target)...

As for the jeans I wear black denim and the detector has never gone off... Just make sure the only "metal" is the button & zipper no extra bling... I can't tell you yes or no... What I can tell you is bring a spare change of clothing... Just in case...

I personally have not had the detector go off wearing my black denim...

Wow...your quick on replies, thanks! I looked at Target for the bag, no luck, you probably got the last one (ha-ha). Just so I do this right, I am going to e-mail my request for an appointment on 8/13, to visit on the dates for Aug, 25th & 26th. Plus I should do it by 4:00am, don't want to screw it up! That's correct isn't it? Your great, thanks for your advice and help! Sure helps me sleep better.

I've never tried that, but when I go visit my man he puts a bit Vaseline on the cap of his eye drops and so we have that during the visit.
You can smuggle in stuff with lipstick , so they most likely won't allow that.

Hi..can anyone tell me which is correct? When I print out the the "Visiting a friend or loved one in Prison" it clearly says you can take two keys on a ring with no other attachments, one key may be an electronic car key. (Mine is for locking and unlocking the car). But,
when I call the 800-info line she states" no attachments". I think they have to update the phone message? Of course you have to take your car keys only, or do you have to leave them when you check in? I hope not, it would be awful if they gave the wrong keys out!

BarbieV... What you read is correct CSP-Solano just has not gotten around to changing the recording on the 1-800 #...

You are allowed to keep your key on your person they are your responsibility... Solano does not provide lockers.

Hi...thanks again!! OMG I have sooo many questions. I talked to my man yesterday and he is thrilled that we are going to finally meet! I have to wear sunglasses ( clip on over my regular eye glasses) would that be the same as 1 set of prescription glasses that I can put in my wonderful zip lock bag I am taking in? I would not be able to see with-out them if we are standing outside in the sun waiting to get in.

So my question is, what address do I send it to and who do I address it to?

Oh...I believe my husband is in the "hole" unfortunately...does anyone have any info about that? How visits works? How long he can be there? Does he get his family visits still?

Any info will help!

Your envelope for visiting questionnaires should read...

ATTN: Visiting Sergeant
CSP-Solano
P.O. Box 4000
Vacaville, CA 95696-4000

As for being in the hole I'm not sure how the visits work... I think I remember hearing someone say that the visits are an hour between glass...

As for how long he'll be there if all depends on what the did and when the yard captain signs off on him going back mainline.

As for family visits... Nope he will not get them until he goes back mainline and then I believe he has to reapply for them.

Good luck!

Hi...yah I am alittle nervous and apprehensive going that far. Plus I have never been to a prison before. But, it will be a little mini vacation for me. I was suppose to go last year but I got laid off my job 1 week before, so, I am doing this for myself too! He's pretty bummed out because he was suppose to be out 10 years ago(now he has done 30 years) and they keep turning him down in his parole hearings, he said they just laugh at him and humiliate him. So, he feels he has nothing to offer me, etc. We have been writing to each other for 5 years now and talking every week-end on the phone so I think it is time to meet, good or bad I need to see him and visa versa!

Hi all, I have a few questions for you guys. I've been reading previous posts but I'm not sure if anything has changed regarding visiting since a lot of the posts are from last year. My man recently got transferred to Solano from San Quentin. I have visited at Old Folsom and SQ and at both places you just show up early in the morning for visits, no appointment needed. From what I've heard (from my man and on here) you need to make an appointment for visits. I will be traveling from New Mexico to see him and I want to make sure I do everything right, I haven't seen him in over a year and I want as much time with him as possible. If appointments are needed, how do I make one? How far in advance do I need to make it? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!!

In order to make an appointment all you have to do is e-mail solanovisiting@cdcr.ca.gov two weeks prior to your coming out.

For example this Monday you would be making an appointment for the 25th and 26th of August (just a really good word of advice send your e-mail AT 4am tomorrow morning in order to get the time you request... the later you send your e-mail the more likely you are to not get the time you want due to the appointments already being filled up)...

The e-mail should read like this...

Subject: August 25th & 26th (or whatever dates you'd like)...

Please assign me an appointment for 8am on both August 25th & 26th... thank you!!!

Mrs. Tepee (your name)

Mr. Tepee (inmates name)
A-12345 (CDC #)

Sincerely,
Mrs. Tepee

E-mails for contact visits are ONLY accepted between Monday at 4am and 12pm on Tuesday... but again I strongly suggest that you send your e-mail AT 4am in order for you to get the earliest possible appointment (which is 8am)...

Good luck and I really hope this helps...

Okay I got an answer for you... Sgt. Dravencourt said that your clip on sunglasses can go in w/you she doesn't have a problem w/that BUT if you need to wear the dark shades of your sunglasses in the visiting room then you must bring a doctors note saying you need to wear the dark lens indoors...

The facility won't even let you on the grounds more than half an hour before your appointment. So you don't have to stand out there to incredibly long...

It wasn't hot this morning when I got there at 8:30am (my appointment was for 9am) but when I left there around 12:15pm it was already 98 degrees...

Ok Barb... Visitors may phone (707) 453-4750 on Thursdays from 11 am to 1pm for an appointment...

You can call this number tomorrow as an alternative to the e-mail appointment. I'm sorry you haven't heard back & no I down't know who answers the e-mail.

Calling tomorrow might be a little tedious but be diligent to get through... The only way I can explain calling for an appointment is like trying to call a radio station when they're trying to find a winner... If the line is busy just keep trying... I've had to do this a few times & it normally takes me about 20 to 30 minutes to get an answer.

I can't tell you why you didn't get a confirmation... Sorry!

Good luck! I really hope you get through tomorrow. :-/

Please clarify something for me to ease my jitters. When I pull up to the prison 30 minutes b/4 my appointment @ 9:30...will I clearly see the entrance? It says not to be 10 minutes late., also you said to allow for the search of the trunk adding an extra 10 minutes for that???? But, won't there be a line of cars? Won't that make me 10 mins. late...how do they figure that? What time should I get there and after I park will I know where to go?

Thanks...

It is pretty self explanatory... There will be a little hut as you pull in... The C/O verifies your name and your appointment time and as long as it is only half an hour before your appointment he'll allow you in grounds... You'll drive in and parking will be on your left and then visiting processing office will be a little further up on your right. Another C/O will come out every half hour for appointments and as long as your there by your appointment time you're good.

COMING SOON NEW VISITING PROCESSES @ SOLANO!!!

To all visitors at SOLANO- the current system in place for making appointments in visiting via EMAIL will soon be replaced by VPASS...

VPASS is currently being used at Folsom Prison and Solano is one of 9 prisons slated to soon use this online, web-based appointment process.

As we understand change is always a bit unsettling, we have spoken with Folsom IFC members and visitors and understand the
system to be working well there.

IFC will work with SOL administration as we did when the email appointments first rolled out to fine-tune the glitches that are bound to come up with any new process. We ask that visitors be patient as we ALL (visitors and staff) learn the VPASS appointment processing.

Features are:

- this automated system frees up the staff at SOL and will not require a person to answer the email appointment requests we send in

-realtime appointment process lets you know your appointment is secure vs. waiting for an email response from a staffer at Solano

-phone call appointments will still be available

-walk-on visiting will still be available

details will be rolling out in the next few weeks along with the actual date we will change over so please stay tuned to IFC-Solano bulletins via email from SOL-IFC etc.

IFC will also be available during processing and
visiting and will have written instructions to help you learn VPASS, the newest appointment process.

Thank you,
IFC Solano

Here is the info you need for a non-contact visit... Because he's in ad-Seg non-contact is all you'll get right now...

As for you and your mother-in-law going that's fine but you both have to check in together. You're allowed up to three visitors during a non-contact visit. If I'm not mistaken non-contact visits are an hour long...

If making a request for a non contact visit, you must put NON CONTACT in the subject line.

Appointments for non contact visits can also be made telephonically by calling (707) 454-3266 Wednesdays only from 11 AM-1 PM.

Visitors will be allowed to email their appointment request on Monday and Tuesday each week for
up to two weeks in advance of their requested visiting appointment date.

Emails will be accepted between 4:00 AM Monday and 12:00 noon Tuesday of each week. Any emails received before 4:00 AM on Monday and after 12:00 noon on Tuesday will not be processed.

as slated to be used on the Dept. of Corrections website that will explain how visitors will log in, set up an account in order to request a visiting appt. The site is similar to many of those you use online for other appointments or reservations (such as airline or hair appts etc.)

Details include:email alerts and a FAQS page to help answer the common questions.

IFC had many questions that SOL staff cannot yet answer and we have submitted these questions and expect they are the same as many of you may have.

Answers should come soon...so please stay tuned!

"IFC-Solano, in attempting to make the new VPASS go smoothly and give everyone a head’s up…we requested that the responses sent to all your email appt requests this week and next include instructions and/or link for
more information on the upcoming VPASS…SOL admin had already thought of this as a good way to further spread the info.

I was told by Visiting Sgt. Dernoncourt yesterday (Monday. Sept. 17th) that we can send our usual emails on Sept. 24th for the Oct. 6 & 7th weekend visits….that will be THE LAST EMAIL APPTS. THEY WILL ACCEPT.

On Sept. 30th, everyone should be able to log into VPASS http://visitorreservations.cdcr.ca.gov/ (http://visitorreservations.cdcr.ca.gov/) (I believe we will be getting a different link soon…but if you want to LOOK at the VPASS {also referred to as IVRS} please go the above site).

Beginning Oct. 1st at 7a.m., you will be able to make your online visiting appt. through this new system. IFC hopes by this time they can provide us a direct link or post so we can send thru Solano-Yahoo group , IFC-
Solano.org (http://Solano.org) website email alerts and also by going to Solano Prison VISITING on their own site (http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/ (http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/))

We have the same concerns as all of you…that this new system may crash…we may not get the information soon enough to learn it…that the appointments may all be full….that the log-in time won’t be at a time we can access it etc.

The best we can do is send updates as soon as we get them…let’s all stay positive and be patient….remember we used to all have to wait out on the road VERY early in the morning…and many were unhappy with that (everyone!)…then we got ‘by-phone’ appts…were frustrated as we couldn’t get thru on phone…..then we got email appts…. (yea! Much better!)…then many of us learned we didn’t have to get up at 4 a.m….but could send on lettermelater…. So now we are asking for patience again…as the dept. of corrections shuffles the cards on how we get in… It may be a week or 2 to settle down…and we MAY be able to change the log-in time (we are asking for Sunday eve, 8pm).

Stay tuned for more!

Beginning October 1, 2012, contact appointments will be made by accessing the CDCR website; that emails will not be honored for appointments that occur after September 30, 2012. Please refer below regarding the process of making an online appointment.

VPASS will be available on Sunday, September 30, 2012, which will allow visitors to create a logon identification (ID) and password prior to the reservations being released the following day. Effective Monday, October 1, 2012, at precisely 07:00 a.m., VPASS will open for appointment requests. Appointments can be made up to 14 days in advance, as is our current process.
Visitors are encouraged to call the Visiting Hotline for information on the current visiting status at CSP Solano prior to their appointment time by calling (800) 374-8474, menu sequence 1, 2, 3. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

When you filled out your visitor questionnaire did you put your Iowa address or your Texas address?

Your ID needs to match what they have in the computer so if it was Iowa just write your Iowa address on you visitor slip when you get there if it was Texas get to the DMV...

Gray jeans are fine as long as they don't favor blue at all and are not too tight.

As for your daughter... dress code still applies to her. I believe (I can be wrong) they (infant/toddlers) can wear blue denim up until the time they are 36 inches tall... But again I can be wrong on that tidbit of information.

Congrats on getting to go and see your hubby!

Disturbances at California State Prison-Solano Under Investigation

Three inmates sent to area hospitals.

VACAVILLE – California State Prison-Solano (CSP-SOL) administrators have begun an investigation into several disturbances that occurred simultaneously at the prison today.

Just after 1 p.m., a disturbance involving 60 to 80 inmates broke out on one of the medium-security yards. Correctional officers used pepper spray and discharged two warning shots from the Mini 14 rifle to stop the disturbance. Two inmates were injured from the fighting and were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.

At about 1:30 p.m., another fight broke out on another medium-custody yard. At the same time, three other disturbances occurred in other buildings. More than 60 inmates were involved in these fights. Four suffered injuries; three were treated at the prison and one was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

The entire institution has restricted inmate movement to facilitate the investigation.

CSP-SOL is a medium-security institution that houses 4,228 male general population inmates.

quick question how hard is it to get approved for a visit. I have a prior drug charge that I did programming for which allows my charge to be expunged. this charge was a while back I would like to like 6-7 years ago. I have been off of probation for a long time. and have not gotten into any trouble since then I already turned in my paperwork for visiting. do you think you will be approved?

There is no exact answer how long this will go on that's just how CDC works. They don't like riots at Solano or any prison for that matter. Since they want to act up now we all have to suffer. I think this one may be a few more weeks or even another month. Just keep scheduling your visits so you have appt when they do eventually come off.

Obviously, many things have changed when it comes to visiting! :) Anyway, there are no appointments left for the next 4 visiting days, so I wanted to ask what we are suppose to do for walk-in visits. The facility will allow walk ins on the ground at 1130. There is a port that you can wait under and it is first come first serve... They start giving out walk in numbers at noon right there at the port.

Did you try calling the phone appointment number to get an appointment? They normally have slots available via phone appointments.

Hello everyone. I just read on VPASS that Solano has a confirmed case of Norovirus. Does anyone know anything about it?

Just that it is very contagious and that the yards that are effect need to stay quarantined until the virus is subdued.

krc1abc1
11-16-2012, 10:33 PM
Norovirus causes severe vomiting and diarrhea. It is often the cause of this type of problems that we hear about in the news on cruise ships. Quarantine is necessary to prevent the spread of the virus. There often breakouts of this virus in prisons and as soon as it is suspected inmates go on quarantine. At Solano it is a good thing that housing is in different buildings do they can isolate the cases and only quarantine the buildings effected.

marie8899 the only reason I know these dates by heart is because the 12th was the last visiting day w/my husband, the 13th was our last phone call, and again the only reason I know these dates is because August 14th was my husbands birthday and I never got the chance to say happy birthday to him.

On the 14th they started a facility wide search. They locked everyone up and did a complete sweep, during that time the whole facility was down for two weeks but then they brought everyone up except for the two classifications. I honestly am unaware of anything that happened on the level 3 yard but in September they were bringing up the level 2's when the riot w/the blacks & whites took place and then the level 2 Southerners and Northerners went at it.

But yet here our love ones sit on the level 3 yard w/no incident and we get nothing all because CDC can.

I'm really not familiar with those numbers...

When I address my envelope it reads like this

M. Tepee A-12345
CSP - Solano 1 - 147 upper.

The 1 would be the yard aka yard A and the 147 is his cell number (the upper just represents the bunk he is on). But I'm also on level 3...

If I had to try it looks like he would be on yard C building 15 dorm 4 bunk 3 up.

You can call records tomorrow and find out for sure.

My husband is on the level two side the way to read the housing is C is for C yard, the building is 15. The next number indicates the Pod within the dorm. Each pod holds 10 men if the bunks are full so he is in pod 4. His bunk number is 3 and he is on the upper bunk. As of right now all of level two have visiting this coming weekend. So happy--it's been 9 months without calls or visits--until yesterday, when we were able to talk on the phone! And we finally get to visit next weekend.

For anyone having issues with VPASS here is info from the IFC:

-----------------------------------

In the continuing effort to make the new VPASS work for visitors, Solano prison will immediately begin to allow WALK-ON Visitors to arrive beginning at 9:30am. This will begin this weekend for Dec 15 & 16th

Walk-on visitors will then have a chance to obtain a pass and be processed earlier THAN 12 NOON

- APPOINTMENT VISITORS WILL HAVE PRIORITY AND THEIR APPOINTMENTS WILL BE Honored

-however, if the processing staff finishes the appointments before each next group, they will take a limited amount of walk-on visitors until the next appointment group is called

Example: I have a 10am visit. I arrive at 9:30…and the staff calls 10am appts. at 10am but finishes processing the 10am appts by 10:20, they will then call maybe 5 pass numbers to be processed before they call the 10:30 appts. This may cause many walk-ons to wait quite awhile, but if you have a higher number you will be able to wait….or leave..come back..or wait in your car.

- some of the details have not been worked out yet, as staff and visitors will all have to adjust as this rolls out. The times may be changed or other details added as it unfolds…

- passes may be handed out at the gate or up front, this is TBA

if you have an appointment and end up later than the ’10 minutes after’ due to a longer than usual car line for example…YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL STILL BE HONORED

Example- you have a 9:30 appt., and arrive at 9:15…and wait in a car line that prevents you from getting to the Entrance until 9:45…you will still have your 9:30 appt honored.

Other options are also being discussed within the Dept.
