Hi everyone,
Wonder if anyone can help. Im planning to visit my friend in Eyman later this year. Ive been on the ADC website and received info with my visitation approval papers. I would like to know if anyone here has actually been for a visit and can tell me more. Plus does anyone know of a good motel etc in the area to stay in.
Many thanks

I have visited there.... it's been about 18 months... I stayed in Scottsdale AZ while there- at the Hospitality suities... is was about 40 dollars a night, and had free cocktail hour from 4 to 6:30 each night by the pool :) and free breakfast every morning- and is about a 45 minute drive to the prison. Nice hotel, all suites, with fridge, microwave, pool, laundry, etc. And scottsdale was only about 15 to 20 minutes from the PHX airport. There is a hotel... blue something- out there... but there is NOTHING in Florance AZ.... it is in the middle of nowhere.
I had to make an appointment each day I visited, I made them a week in advance- brought my licience, it was behind glass....he was in the SMU though. Let me know, if this is where you visiting, I can give you more info :) It is hot, hot , hot there :)

which unit is he at ??? (ie; north, east, south, smu, etc) The blue skies motel is on the road to the prison, florence has a few things, burger king, family dollar, a&w restaurant, circle k's, couple gas stations, not sure what you'd be looking for or need.
I'll help anyway I can.

Many thanks  You can stay at the blue moon hotel in florence, AZ. i lived at eyman/cook unit for 3 years. call 520-868-4011 and ask for the specific unit you need to talk to. When you get that unit on the phone ask for the visitation officer. The best time to call during the week is 7am to 3pm. They will answer all of your questions. Thats how my family got the info they needed. This info is from a friend of ramblinredt147  you are looking for.I hope this helps you get the info

My husband is at Cook. Visits are held in a big room with tables and vending machines and a grassy picnic area outside. You can take ten dollars worth of quaters per person in with you. Y ou can kiss you loved one for 5 seconds when you arrive and when you say goodbye; other than that, hand-holding only. You have to sit facing one another, not side by side.
You can not wear anything blue, brown or orange. all you can take in with you is your id and quarters. no sleeveless tops. no shorts. you have to go thru a metal detector and sometimes a drug dog sniffer. i'm assuming you are coming for special visitation. You will enter the prison at the visitation door and sign in just like the regular visitation. if you have any other questions, you might want to call the visitation officer.
on where to stay, it's a toss up. the blue mist is seventy-five dollars for 2 beds each night on weekends. The positive thing is that you are only a few miles from the prison. It will take you atleast 45 minutes to drive to other motels from Florence, but they are cheaper by far.
Hope this helps.
