Does anyone know how much time the woman in county jail are doing on their sentences? My youngest sister is in jail but hasn't been sentenced yet. She's only been arrested once before for disturbing the peace so I'm sure she'll just do county, not prison. I hear that the guys are doing 1 month on a 12 month sentence (county not prison). Anyone know anything on this subject? Please let me know. thanx

no but im gona look into it my girl is in county going for a bail reduction and looking at 3 years or more for her second term and she is so sick of being in county she is thinkin of just taking whatever they come at her with regardless how much time in state she gets as opposed to doing less in county. i desperatly trying to taLK HER INTO TAKING A COUNTY YEAR IF ITS OFFERED , THINKING DUE TO OVER CROWDING SHE MAY GET RELIESED BEFORE SHE FINISHES THE WHOLE SENTENCE

Hi there...I would say that generally in county they get 1 for every 2, in other words for every 2 days she is in they give her one day...so basically they do about 2/3 of the sentence. That has been my experience over the past several year with my ex going in and out of county at least a dozen times in the past 5 years. A big factor as well is the county that they are serving the time in and how crowded the jail is. I had a friend that was sentenced to 1 year in LA county jail and as soon as they booked him in they released him because it was just to over crowded and they just dont have the space. Lucky break for him because it counts as sentence served in full. Hope I was a little help any other ? feel free to PM me...good luck to your sister and bless you both
