Hi, can anyone please help me? The IA DOC site is completely worthless!

I am trying to locate a friend who was at the Curt Forbes Center in Ames, IA in early summer of 2000, and, as a result of a violation, was sent to Oakdale, then I believe to the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, IA. We fell out of touch as he didn't have my address, and I didn't know where he had been shuffled around to! He may have even been paroled by now? Anyway, I would like to resume contact.

If anyone has heard of, or has contact info. for Mike "Stimu" Leighton, or knows how I can go about finding this out, PLEASE let me know! I spent hours last night trying to find a working Iowa Inmate Locator!

HI Anima Sola :wave: Welcome to PTO from another Iowan! You are right in saying the Iowa Doc site is worthless, as the inmate locater is "under construction" at this time and has been for quite a while now. You say your friend may have been paroled by now, have you tried the Iowa BOP site?

And if you believe that he may be in Fort Madison, what about writing to the Warden there and simply asking if he is there or ever was. You could even call and ask~you would get your questions answered alot faster that way.

You can always call the prison too and ask if he's there by his first and last name. This is how I found out where my loved one was at.
