I have tryed for days to figure this out, I guess it would be eaiser to ask for help, will someone tell me:
what is the difference between a post and a forum?
is a post the same as a thread?
what is subscribing to a forum?
after I reply to a message, if I leave that site then I forget which message I replyed to.
Last but not least, I have been fighting a wrongful conviction for the last 3 years, I spend alot of time at the law library, and one the internet. attorneys have totally robbed my mother and I so I dont rely on them for answers. Can I go to the legal section and ask questions?
I would be truly grateful for any help I can get.
Thank You

I hope I can remember where I posted this message!

Hello Jean, I don't know to much but if you want to see where you have been just go to the member list and look your name up. Do search and you will see everything you have posted. I am sure toe can help you with the rest.

Jean,
First, the difference in a post and a thread is this: A thread is all the posts that are on a specific topic. When you "Post a Topic" (make a new post, rather than a reply) you will be the first post in a thread, and thus the one who started the thread. You started a new thread by making your post "I keep getting lost". My post is a reply to you questions (post #1) and is part of the same thread.. Basically, they are all posts on the same topic.
Subscribing to a forum keeps track of one that you want to pay particular attention to. I rarely use that feature and it isn't something I would recommend you mess with until you are more comfortable with.
The best way to find a message you have posted (if you don't remember where you posted it) is to click on the "Search" feature, and then enter your own username in the username field. It will pull up all of your posts.
Usually, when I come to the site again, I just click on the "View New Posts" button, which is located under the statistics area on the top left of the main page. It will pull up all the new posts/threads since you last visited, including any replies to your own post.
As for Legal help, please do post any questions you have in that area of PTO. Hopefully we can help you.

David
