Does anybody know if it is more difficult to get paroled when you are trying to parole to a different state? I am considering moving to Oklahoma...just across the state line...it is only 35 miles away from here, but at least it is not Texas! :) I just don't want making parole to be any more difficult than it already is!

Thank you SO much Amelia! That is the most important bit of information we need right now. Once we have an answer to that, we can start making some more definite plans. I really appreciate it!!! You can email me an answer or whatever....I can call you if you would rather explain his answer to me over the phone! THANK YOU for doing this for me!

Jamie, We're thinking about moving out of state too, before Odie is paroled. I remember posing the same question somewhere on PTO...unfortunately the responses weren't very positive, seems like it could delay his parole for 6 months or longer. I had hoped maybe he could parole out to his dad's first and then make the transition to us out of state through his parole officer, but since his dad's a prick that's out of the question. I would think the best bet would to go ahead and hire a parole atty. quite a while before Monty is paroled and let he/she get that part ironed out long before it's time to make the decision on whether he gets paroled on time or not. I know that's what we're gonna do (as soon as our land closes and we can afford a retainer fee). I look for that issue to be one of the biggest, if in deed we do move. Just my 2 cents worth....Carla
