Hey ladies! Things are going great for the BBQ! This is the list of what everyone is bringing:

2 chips
1 soda
1 diet coke
1 bottled water
1 hamburger
1 hamburger buns
1 hot dogs
1 beans
1 fruit salad
1 pasta salad
1 ice
1 utensils
1 catsup & mustard
1 brownies

If you ladies want to contribute to this list, please post here. Also, just a few suggestions: bring a camera, your address book (in case you want to exchange information), pictures to share, maybe a favorite letter, wear a prison shirt or orange (lol) if you have it. Any other ideas? post here.

Also, I will be there from 2PM - 5PM, so if you are late its ok! I am going to try and look for a table close to the playground.

Hey yvonne I am so excited to ..I cant wait ..you know this life gets so hard at times and there are not a lot of open minded people ..and just the thought of all of us getting together ..all going through the same thing ...and to be able to talk and have someone who knows how you feel is so great ..I am so happy I found Pto it has really been my saving grace and I know we are going to have long lasting friendships ...

I sure wish I could join you in Phoenix for the get together, since my son is in Florence West, but I am in Northern CA, writing to him a lot, and just waiting for his sentence to be over.... Have a GREAT DAY, ladies!!!!!! :thumbsup:

My son & I are discussing a future trip to Phoenix (his grandmother & I will fly out there,) so that we can have a chance to see each other, but we haven't settled on a date yet.

He has lived in Phoenix for a few years and is now trapped there because of an "aggravated DUI" sentence. There was not an accident when he was arrested, but he had a suspended license at the time, so I suppose that is what the "aggravated" part was. The kid has never been a lucky driver. :(

I make a great spinach dip in King's Hawaiian bread, and an even greater Shrimp Mousse. Maybe there will be another get together when my mother & I have saved up enough to fly out for some "face time" with Patrick. I'll bring the Shrimp Mousse!

They have a few "food visits" at Florence West each year, and he was depressed this past weekend, because they had one, and of course, he wasn't included, because he didn't have any visitors.

His friends in Phoenix have abandoned him (I guess that's what the 20-something semi-professional crowd does, when a member of their group of friends gets into trouble.) His sister is living in Hawaii, his Dad & stepmother have retired to Montana, and his grandmother & I are more than 1,000 miles away, near San Francisco. :(

I hope someone takes digital pictures at your get together, and that you will post the pix for all of us who are too far away to participate in the fun.

Oh, Mamakat! I wish you could come! I'd love to sample your spinach dip! If this one is a success, maybe we will make it a habit!! My husband was in Florence for 4 months. I got the prison shirt I am wearing to the BBQ at the prison store right outside of the prison there! LOL

hey guys I work on Sat untill 1:OO BUT I AM COMING ..bringing the kids two girls 9 and 11 the older 18 yr old is a fuddy duddy and wont come ..but we will ....cant wait

LOL! I just realized probably NONE of us own orange, brown, tan, or blue because we can't wear it to visitation!!
Oh, well I was trying to think of ways for us to recognize eachother. I'll be the one sitting under a big orange banner. LOL!

Sorry that I have not responded lately. I have not had a computer for a while so it is hard for me to get online. I will be there tomorrow too, but I dont know if Im going to bring anything except myself and a camera. I got visits that morning, so Im probably comin straight from there, so I for sure wont be wearing anything orange!!! Ill see what I can do. Hey ladies! I was thinking about there not being a table too! I will try to get there early, but if someone gets there before me, try to go to the tables on the North side of the park over by the playground. I am wearing a gray prison shirt tomorrow. I made the sign today & bought the other stuff. I am making the brownies in the morning!!

No orange bow, no BBQ grill, no assorted salads, no extra desserts. sigh....

BUT, damn I had a great time!!! It was so awesome to spend the day with the ladies that did come. We ate veggies, drank diet soda, ate too many brownies, shared stories, pictures, and letters, and generally just felt WONDERFUL about being able to be with eachother!

A special thank you to:Ladydinaz, Littleoneinaz, and Luisychris - you ladies made my weekend. I am sooo looking forward to hanging out w/ you more!!

I do apologize for my absence at the BBQ today. I went visiting in the morning and I did not leave visits a very happy person :( . Just some things going on with Joey. Nothing bad between us, just things that have to do with him and the prison. Plus, I dont drive my car right now due to it being a piece of crap. So I take my parents car to visits and today they needed the car.
I am very sorry...once again I apologize. I know that I would have had a GREAT time with you guys there. I promise you all that I will be at the next BBQ. :idea: Actually I may even host one myself. Where I live, we got pools galore and it would be nice to cool down in the :cool: SUMMER HEAT :cool: that is just around the corner.
Please dont be mad at me. :( I told you in advance that I was not going to be able to bring anything, so you didnt miss out on any food from me!!! :p Just kidding......
