Dismas House of Baltimore, Inc, is a private non-profit agency that operates two 45-bed CARC units (Community Adult Rehabilitation Center), under contractual arrangement with the Division of Correction. The objectives of Dismas House is to aid residents in making a smooth transition from the penal system, or to act as an alternative to incarceration for those serving sentences of three years or less. This is accomplished by providing individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol therapy and surveillance, family counseling, employment, educational and vocational services and structured recreational activities. The ultimate goal of the program is to prepare residents for successful transition back into the community upon release without recidivating.

Visiting Hours for both DHE & DHW are as follows:
Residents whose last name begins with A thru L:
Tuesdays 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Residents whose last name begins with M thru Z:
Thursdays 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Residents in Phase 1A and 1B only:
Sundays 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
