Hi, I am from Arizona with a son in the Federal System. He was transfered from Goshen County Detention in Torrington, Montana to SEATAC FDC in Seattle Washington. They have been "going to move him" for months now. Finally they "packed him out" yesterday, froze his account, etc. He was suppose to fly to Oklahoma today and then on to Tucson, Arizona (practically in our backyard). We have not seen him for a year now. He has a 6 year old son that is now convinced his Daddy is dead. Jay calls him, but Will hangs up on him and tells us we are lying and it is NOT his Daddy. Today my son called, he was in tears (normally a very strong person) he told me that he had been in "holding" with 40 other guys (standing room only) for hours and hours, finally they took them all back to their cells and told them "to bad, the plane broke down again". Now he has nothing, no personal care items, no sheets, no blanket.....nothing. They won't tell him anything. In fact, due to a mistake by a new guard they posted the inmates names in his block that showed where they were being transfered to. I am beside myself and would like someone to explain to me how much longer it will be until I can see my son.....I am so angry right now. Sorry, I guess I needed to shout at someone..... can anyone tell me when I can expect him to get home....?? :blah:  :smash: :(

Welcome to PTO Melanalynn!

Sorry to say...if he is still in the detention center, and hasn't been transferred to OK yet...it still may be a few weeks. Most often, they have a layover period at OK if he does indeed go there.

Con-Air....what a plane!

This is a hard time for you, and many of us know what your feeling! While it can not come soon enough, be thankful he is returning to an area you said was "practically in our backyard"....that will be a blessing for him, you and his son...and everyone else!

Feel free to shout and yell...and cry too if you need to! We have a few extra shoulders around here....and will gladly lend an ear too!

I hope things speed up for him....and he gets to his destination quickly!

Glad you have found PTO!

Melanalynn, I am so sorry for what you are going through now.

I went through the transfer center in OKC twice. The first time they loaded everyone on the plane and we were in the air for 20 minutes before we turned around because the plane had mechanical problems. Talk about scary! We did leave the next day and everything was fine. So I can relate to how you are feeling and understand your frustration. Hopefully it will not take too much more time for him to reach the new facility.

Bless you heart, I wish someone could give you a specific answer. My husband was in OKC for only a few days, but I think the norm is more like a few weeks. PTO is a wonderful supportive place to come to, no matter what your mood is!! I sure hope that little boy gets to see his Daddy soon. That just breaks my heart. Hang in there!

Hi! My Dad was transferred one week ago from Torrington, Wyoming to Oklahoma City. He is supposed to be on his way to SeaTac in Seattle, Washington. He called yesterday and said they had loaded him onto a plane and then later unloaded them and told them the plane had broke down. He sounds so depressed on the phone. He seems to be heading the same way that your son is coming from. Did your son go strait from Torrington to SeaTac or did they take him to Oklahoma City first. I am praying they take my Dad strait to SeaTac and not anywhere else. It is horrible the way they are moved around. Hang in there and I hope you are able to see your son very soon!!

Melanalynn,

Let me add another welcome to PTO! I am so sorry for all the grief and frustration that your son and your family is experiencing. Try to stay strong; if the end of his journey is Tucson, then there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it's not an oncoming train! Just remember PTO is always here for you!

Welcome to PTO. Sorry to hear about the problems / delays.. The Marshals run on their own clock... He shouldn't be stuck in hold-overs for too much longer.
