I introduced myself elsewhere, but this Forum seems appropriate.

My Dearest is at FMC Butner. Prior to that, was at FCI Waseca, and prior
to that, our local county jail. He has been charged, but not sentenced.
(I don't feel comfortable in stating the charge)-- however, it is a low
level offence.
I'm glad I found PTO-- believe it is a Godsend of the highest order!!
Isn't it amazing how when we most need direction, we often find it in
websites, such as PTO?
My Dearest is slated to be at FMC Butner for a period of up to 4 months,
but of course, I hope he will be able to return sooner than that.
Soon, it will be a year since "this whole thing" started..
--At least, I'm learning and trying to educate myself on this..stuff,
for lack of a better word.

Thanks again, PTO, for creating a place where we can all drop by,
visit, and feel that we are not alone!

All the Best,

I am new to this, but my boyfriend was just sent to FMC Butner for six months. He is a 1st timer and I was wondering usually do they have to do the full 6 months? I was also wondering why is he there if he has no medical problems?

Hi posi! I'll tell you what I know:

If he was given 6 months, he should get a little time off that if he doesn't become a problem inmate.

They need workers at FMC Butner. They use the inmates to run the kitchen and take care of the patients, etc. My brother's been there for over two years, and it's not a bad place serve out your time, it's fairly safe.

Which 'cadre' is your boyfriend in? There are two there, and he might know my brother if they're in the same cadre.

I have no information on where he is because he just went yesterday and I have not talked to him yet. He told me he would be in the minimum security. Thanks so much for replying!
