View Full Version : SAP Program At Ventress TARBABY 04-21-2004, 12:16 PM Does anyone know anyone in the SAP Program at Ventress? angelntn 05-13-2004, 08:17 PM My fiance has just gotten into that program. I hear that you have to complete it to get paroled. dixilandelite 05-14-2004, 01:43 PM I have a friend who just completed the SAP program at Ventress. He said it helped him a lot. After he completed the program, they moved him to a different dorm. He talks a lot more positive since he completed it. If you need anything else, just let me know!!! ragland 05-14-2004, 09:20 PM joe just gradutated bout 3 weeks ago amandareed81 04-27-2008, 09:08 AM My fiance is in the SAP program also he's got 2 weeks left. As bad as I hate to say it they do have to finish the program before they can parole out. And from what I hear it's really hard to finish. They get kicked out over the littlest things. But I wish all of them the best of luck, we all know they need it. road2lane 04-27-2008, 11:49 AM well, my fiance will go into it june 2nd. we're anxious because we're hoping for parole or work release... lee22 10-25-2008, 08:02 PM I just got a letter from my boyfriend an he just into the sap progrom, could someone out there tell me more about this am new to all of this stuff. HRTbrokenMOM 11-07-2008, 08:47 AM Lee, You probably have found out your answers by now on the SAP program. All I know is that there are several different programs at Ventress with varying lengths. My son was transferred out of Kilby yesterday & I 'think' this is where he was sent. I am anxious to see the change on the Dept of Corrections website to confirm this. Let me know if you have heard from your man and what he says on how it is there. Stu'sbaby 11-07-2008, 05:56 PM My fiance is in the SAP program at Ventress. He's been there for about 2 weeks now. He kinda went over the routine with me when he first called but I still have alot of questions and the phone calls are so expensive. So if anyone has someone that has been there a while or has completed it let me know, I'd like to understand it a little better. briansgal17 11-09-2008, 08:08 PM My boyfriend is in the SAP program right now and only has 11 more days before he graduates. There arent that many people left in it because you do get kicked out for the stupidest things. They have to wake up at 3:30 in the morning and their first class doesnt start until 6. Its just a lot of papers they have to write and they have to read out of a book in front of the class. They each talk about there stories of what they have been through and what they want to do when they come home. It helps a lot when they come up for parole if they graduate. The only thing that sucks is they can only use the phone on the weekends. It was hard to get used to that because we usually talk everyday. But if anyone has any questions about it, I talk to Brian every weekend and I can get the answers for you! HRTbrokenMOM 11-10-2008, 09:19 PM Briansgal, My son was just transferred to Ventress and has to do the SAP program. I would love it if you could give me any tips to give him on how to best make it. Was Brian in the shorter program? If so, then my son should enter when your Brian graduates. Any help you can offer from things that Brian has told you would be greatly appreciated. I have told my son some of the things I have read on here but recent experiences would be wonderful. Thanks. Kerri lee22 11-15-2008, 08:18 PM Haven't been on in awhile but my boyfriend told me he probaly want get in thr sap program intil feb.i don't know what happen but am still praying. road2lane 11-16-2008, 12:24 AM my fiance just graduated! it's a very strict program. this was his second go-around. just encourage them! they have to get up very early in the mornings even on sundays. and during the week they wake up at like 6 i think and can't sit down on their beds to even rest till like 6 that night. they have to write long long essays. other than that, they just have to follow the rules of the center very closely! briansgal17 11-17-2008, 08:36 PM Everything will be fine with him entering if he just stays out of trouble. They have to get up at 3:30 in the morning during the week, but they get used to it after a while. Brian and them just had to write a 30 page essay front and back and he really hated it but had to do it. Yeah, he was in the 8 week program but it seems like forever. Im excited about him graduating this friday, Im going to see it. Let him know that if he sets his heart to it, he can do anything. Just make sure you tell him to follow every rule that they have because the dorm leaders will write them up for every little thing they do and they can get kicked out. Good luck! jonivea 11-26-2008, 09:38 PM My husband starts SAP Monday....YEA for us...Anyone else with us... HRTbrokenMOM 11-26-2008, 11:39 PM Joniveam, my son starts Monday as well! They moved him from the dorm he was in (from B to C) and he will get his first visitation on Dec. 7th so I have that to look forward to. YEA, us!!! Hang in there! Kerri |
