Anybody been to a reconsideration hearing? How'd it go?

If you don't know what that is, it's when board turns you down, or in case of my husband grants parole but makes you complete classes or votech INSIDE before you can be released, and then the inmate pleads to the board to reconsider their decision. Their jacket goes before the board and decides whether to grant the request, deny the request, or schedule a reconsideration hearing.

Never been to one, but I know several who have...very few of the ones I know were given parole at the reconsideration hearing--usually get a prior decision upheld. Good luck & I hope everything works out!

Juliwaits - I'm so new to all this I don't even know what happens a parole hearing but, I can definitely imagine what it would be like to have your fate hanging until the hearing. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope all goes well.

Just found out that 5 guys requested reconsideration and all were shot down cept my husband who was granted a hearing on June 9th. I feel sorry for the other guys, I know one of them. But I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic now.

That sounds like a good sign! At least he has a second chance at parole. Keep us posted!

Yeah, thought I'd told you that. He just found out he was denied a reconsideration hearing. I'll be okay :)...just hope he will. He's been looking forward to getting out for so long & thought it'd be this year after the conditions he received last year, but *sigh* guess they changed their mind...

Ya'll, it is so heartbreaking to get bad news and to hear of someone else getting bad news. It seems like there is never any good news. Juliwaits - it does my heart good to see you have a little good come your way. I hope it all goes well. I will be praying. Terry doesn't come up for parole till Feb of 2007. Of course he just got started. Seeing someone get a little bit of maybe good news gives me hope.
