Don't ever make a money order payable to the CDC, there is a chance that your man may never see it.
You make it payable to his name, be sure to include his CDC number on it as well, and mail it just like you would a letter.

Or if your in a real hurry to get this to him, send it overnight express. It is costly
but he will get it usually the next day, depending on what you have put in the envelope. I used to send almost all of what Eric wanted when he was in reception
via overnight express, and he would get it the next day. Overnight express has priority
over regular mail. I think it takes a couple of days tho, to get his money posted to his
account. But he will get it. Hope this helps. Suzi

Just put the inmates name and CDC number on the money order. When an inmate is first received they sign a power of attorney for the state to deposit his money order into his account.
