I have a question for anyone that can answer it. My fiance was given a 5 year sentence by was only required to do 2 . He was locked up in 8/01.He has a TMP in Dec. 2005 but the grid sheet said if he has good behavior and completes all the requirements...he could be eligible for parole in Dec. 2004. Does that mean he is eligible for a half-way house 6 months prior to his release in Dec? Or could they let him go and come home b/c they have an address for him at my house? Do they require everyone that is mandated to a H.W.H go to one? If anyone has an answer to this please let me know. We are so ready to end this like I am sure everyone else is. Any information will be appreciated.

hi MsHouse. The best thing for you to do would be to call the Board of Pardons and Parole (or email them) to get some DEFINITE answers. GA DOC does things on a case-by-case basis. No 2 cases are alike.
Was he MANDATED to go to a halfway house? If he was, then I'm not sure. If he wasn't then he shouldn't have to go to one. But if I were you I would call AND email (call because its quicker and email so that you'll have some "HARD" evidence). I hope that you get some answers. Let us know how it goes.

I agree.... I would call and email so you have something on paper. I don't believe he will have to go to a halfway house unless that was specified in his pre-parole paperwork and/or grid sheet.
Good luck with the Parole Board!
