Just curious, does anyone have a loved one in Arizona DOC awaiting a transfer?
This waiting and wondering is driving me crazy!!!! He's been reclassified and had his picture taken for the out of state move. Does anyone have information on how long this process is gonna take?

Talk to Christina from here in AZ (luisychris). Her man was moved to Texas. I thought my husband was going, but he is classified too high as an institutional risk & drug risk. The one time being in trouble is a good thing! LOL
I know how stressful that is! Keep your head up! If you look up our AZ thread on transfers there is a website link to get information also. It is very helpful.

away from you. I really am looking forward to the transfer, he will be closer to me. But the info I'm getting about Oklahoma is not what I wanted to hear. I just wonder is it really gonna be worth it to be closer to home? He's doing just fine where he is. Oh, I forgot he really doesn't have a choice!!! Say, if you get any info on Texas let me know how it is there.

i know someone who was moved to pecos but i cant seem to find any information about that place does someone know anything?

There is no info anywhere! I guess one of us just needs to pick up the phone and get some information. Maybe I'll do that tommorow. Was this a recent move? Oh, the only thing I do know is it's about 380 miles from San Antonio. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, beings they house federal inmates, should I be looking elsewhere?

Good Morning ...well I think my situation was a little different , because when they transfered Luis we didnt get no prior notice ..nor did they have the option to choose wether to be transfered or not ...he basically said they came to his cell in Tucson/santa.rita and said roll -up ...he said they put everything in a plastic bag and he was put on a bus ..he said some others tryed to resiest but they were told ...you are going you can do it the nice way or you can do it with a write up but either way you are going ..so he went on a three day bue ride to Newton Texas and that was Jan 8th 2004 ..we are hoping that in June his reclass is coming and he will get lowered and return to Az ..but as far as visiting it is not an option for me it is very far on the Louisiana border...but all the new transfers seem alittle more organized ..because at least you are notified in advanced .and they seem th be offering ..visitng options in the way of a charter bus and video visiting which is better than nothing ... What I did was call the ADC office in Phoenix get the number for transfers/private prisons and from there got the number to Newton ..but I got to tell you the people in Newton were cluless ...but may be you will have better luck...I hope everything works out for you .....

They are moving a bunch this week. Call 602-364-2080 and they can tell you if he is going to be moved on a week by week basis.

If he has been moved, you can check the web address Sherrie listed above and click on Frequently asked questions and find the phone number of the facility and call them to check his status.
