Hi all:wave: Has anyone heard if anything is happening at Annie? I just got a phone message from Rickys mom asking me if I heard anything about a lockdown at Anamosa. She said her sister heard that they were on now. And Ricky earlier in the week said that Annie could be selected to be the spot for filming a new Adam Sandler movie. Annie was 1 of 4 prisons to be considered for the movie. Got a letter today saying that the DOC will know by the end of the week.
Well guess what, its the end of the week, and Ricky told me that if Annie was chosen, then they will have to be on lockdown until filming is done.
Yikes, I am not really sure what all happens on lockdown, what they can or cant do? So if anyones knows about that do tell. Are they still allowed phone calls in my main concern, Im sure the mail will still fly.
I am due to hear from Ricky either Tommarrow or Sunday, I will pass any news I get, but until then if anyone knows any scoop lets us know.

An inmate (they are not saying his name) attacked 2 guards in his cell. They did not get hurt. I saw this on the news. They also said they would have a lockdown for an indefinate time. I do not know what happens during this. But my friend in Anamosa calls me a lot and I have not heard from him since this has happened. I usually go visit on Monday. So I guess I will call first.

Ok, I heard the news about the inmate flipping out on the gaurds, so it isnt the movie thing ( but that still may happen). BUt what I dont get is, if it was only 1 inmate, then why does the whole prison have to be on lockdown??
No call from Ricky today either, hopefully tommarrow. And the other thing, I normally get a letter everyday including Saturday. Well today I didnt get a letter. Dang it!! I sure hope mail and phone isnt messed with over all this! Hopefully I'll get more scoop when I talk to Ricky...when I get to talk to him.

Hey guys! Great news!! Annie is off of lockdown. J called this morning about 0930. They had just gotten off. He said that there are shields everywhere and the security is unreal, but at least they are able to move about again. I just wanted to let you all know.

Yep, I got a call about 9:30 this am also. Ricky said they were on lockdown for 3 days. And yep, that means no calls no nothing. He said they didnt even get to shower for the 3 days. Nasty. No visits, no nothing he said, they just remain locked in their cells. Sounds good for you though weddings, looks like you get your monday visit after all :)

Glad its over, and glad I got my call when I was sapose too :dance:

I called the prison last night to find out what was going on. They said yes they were locked down and did not know when they would be able to get out. I asked if they were able to eat and she said yes. Also I asked if they were able to take showers and she said yes but not everyday. I guess they were lying. She told me to call on Monday to see if I could visit. Then I called back to ask if they could at least let me know if it was my friend and she said no it wasnt, That made me feel good!

Anyway I got a call this morning around 10:30am (he needed to clear his head before he called), He never ever complains, so I did not really hear what happened. He did say he was stiff and sore from sitting. I am really glad I can visit him on Monday. I am sure he will need it and I will too!

Hello! Weddings, I'll see you on Monday. I bet it's going to be a pain in the butt to get in for visits. It should be pretty interesting. I think I'm going to get there just a little bit earlier than normal just to make sure I cna get in before shit change. You know. It's crazy. J said that they didn't get to shower at all. He said that for meals all they got was a tablespoon if that of macaroni and cheese, soggy wet bread, and that's all. He said it was nasty. He said that most of the guys spent what money they had left on their books to buy food-snacks- b/c the food they were serving was so nasty. I'm gald I sent money out right away when I heard.
