My husband has DONE EVERY program available, and was unable to finish college courses, but he has taken many courses like his GED, he even is a GED teacher's AIDE and a ART counselor, he has taken car mechanics, cabinet making and carpentry and all that (I can't list them all by memory) But now that they gave him two more years, what more can he do to educate or prepare himself to come home, like another course like a Tech course or something like that besides college? He may know, but I was just curious myself because he has been an ART counselor for 4 years and it has been great for him, but what can he do with that when he comes home? I am sure he can be a counselor but he will need college and some other cert. for that.

He should really consider taking up a trade such as plumbing or electric. If he gets enough hours done and has them documented, he can apply that towards the requirement for a state plumbers or electrician's license. It is MUCH easier to get work in trade fields as an ex-con then in counseling, not to mention, better paying.

And it's not a matter of just taking a few classes, but truly mastering the chosen trade to the point where your level of skill will be seen as an asset to an employer.

as far as that goes, his carpenter skills are very good, he would love to do that, along those lines, building things...cabinet making, installing...That is a trade he would like to pursue
